I'm buying a Polar FT4 with my xmas money (YAY) but I'm not sure whether to get the XS-S or the M-XXL size?

I have 27 inch waist and 34 inch hips.

Also, is it definitely worth buying one if I've got about 12 pounds left to lose, as I'm a poor student and can't afford to waste money!

Thanks in advance!

It is definitely worth buying one so do that. I just got this for Christmas and the strap is the larger one. I wear a 34 in a bra and this strap fits well. If you are tiny around the chest, go for the smaller size but this is something that will last for a while so consider if you'll have kids and things will expand and change and will you need to buy a larger strap at that point.

If you are going to continue to work out a HRM is never a bad idea to make sure you know you are getting the best health benefit from your workout. It's an additional benefit to weight loss but that's not the only reason you would use it. You should get the smaller strap. I have the same HRM. It's not fancy but it gets the job done.

It doesn't go by your waist or hips since it is worn just under your bust on your chest. Enjoy your new present!

Only heartratemonitorsusa.com lets you select a size.. any other place and you get the default m-xxl strap.

    OP:
I have the FT7 and the m-xxl strap. I'm 5'9 and weigh 151... It's adjustable and stretches, so you can make it any size that you want. I don't really feel like I'll need a smaller one.

I bought one off ebay :D Free p&p so it was only £57 with strap included! Can't wait to get it and try it out. Then I can stop guestimating calories burned on wii games like 'Just Dance 3'!

It will probably be motivation to exercise more too...which I need!
