Substitute for mandarin oranges and dressing in salads?

I enjoy the canned mandarin oranges in syrup in my salad, but I know they're not the best as they're high in sugar. What else can I put in my salads for some sweetness? I try and stay away from craisins and raisins too, although I do enjoy them. I mostly have carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers, corn, egg whites, chicken or turkey or sometimes shrimp in my salads.
I also would like to use a better dressing - right now I mostly stick to the fat free raspberry or sometimes the light toasted sesame - both kinda high in sodium and sugar.
