    Good Morning all,

My weekend was victorious. I managed NOT to over eat. I am very happy about it. I now weight 163. I'm not sure if I'm going to change my ticker until the end of the month. Not sure what to do. But, I am very excited about the weight loss.

    Best of luck to all.

    Morning all :flowerforyou:
It's nie and sunny here this morning - rained in the night, I don't mind as long as it sticks towhen I'm in bed!

Kathy - Well done on the weight loss, that's great, and with Easter too - that's awesome :drinker:
Katherine - I'm glad you're enjoying your HRM - I'd be lost without mine.
Jenny - yes you were missed, I've been talking to myself for a while

I now weight 209lbs, a loss of 3lbs (woo-hoo), I'm pleased about that, I've not lost a great deal of weight since my last diabetes check, and I'm due to see the diabetic clinic again nect month, so I really want to
lose a few more pounds by then.

Won't be around much today guys, I've got the doctors this morning - for my depression, then hospital this afternoon - for retinopathy screening :ohwell: Not sure that my doctor will let me go back to work yet, the pills he's got me on are knocking me out - he doubled the dose last month :frown:

    Take care ladies

Docotrs appointment over - signed off for another month :grumble:
Doctor has changed my anti-depressant as they were causing a chemical imbalance (apparently!!!)
I've been advised to seriously consider changnig jobs too, leaving care work behind as I end up worrying about my clients problems too - after 18 years of care work, WOW! Can I really go back to shop work or cleaning for a living - I can't see it :noway:
But hey, if my hwalth improves, I'm all for the change!

Just about to go up to the hospital for my eye xrays, hopefuly they will be fine - my hubby is worrying as I can see hardly anything without my glasses these days, I've been making a joke about it, I don't see the point in worrying until it happens - got enough going against me without that LOL

AWWW jackie, you have had a busy day and not really that fun either! Sometimes it is hard to find the right antidepressant. I changed last year and ended up being allergic, I practically crawled out of my skin! I hope the eye doc went ok!!!! It is hard ot change jobs....I had to do it only twice....one of the times it was to be a mama....I liked that one:bigsmile:

katherine i hope you enjoyed your chocolate though hahahaha!!!  When I have a treat like that I savor every last crumb!!!

Anyways my sis in law and I are goig to go for a 4 mile walk and then I think that I am going to do powersculpt if I have time otherwise we will do some strength training down in her basement I don't know haven't decided :glasses: Then I think tha ti am going to start cleaning out the leaves in my flower beds. I just need to be outside today (sorry katherine hahahaha for once it is nicer in Minnesota then england   ) I am itching to plant my veg garden but it is still way to cold or that! Alright gotta get my boy ready for school!

    Morning All,

:flowerforyou: Katherine, I just love my HRM isn’t so motivating. I just burned 575 calories. Yea, It just keeps me motivated. My iPod & HRM I could not exercise without them.

:flowerforyou: Jenny glad to see you I miss your funny logins. It looks like we all have HRM. That’s probably why we are doing so well. Get “crackin” hehe.

:flowerforyou: Jackie I’m so glad your eyes are OK. My mom suffers from diabetes. She is 84. I have to encourage her everyday to just keep going. She is a trouper .
    :flowerforyou: You are also.

Wish the best for all today.

Summer is just around the corner.

Good morning luverly ladies, hope you are all well :flowerforyou:

Kathy - thanks hun, you're mom's 84 WOW, bless her, it can be hard at times with diabetes, but hey, at least if we look after ourselves, we can live with it instead of it controlling our lives.

My 11 year old son went to the hospital with me yesterday, we got the bus to my husband's works with his lunch, then I managed to convince him it was better for us to walk the rest of the way - around 2-3 miles, poor little mite, by the time we got there, he was worn out.
When we came out, I had the bug for walking again, so we walked a mile before getting on the bus to come home, I looked at my adorable HRM to see I'd burnt almost 800 calories (YAY :drinker:   ) My son is 5ft 4", 1" shorter than me and he said "mum, you're 24 years older than me, yet you can walk my feet off, can I have a HRM please, I need what you got" :blushing:

Today I have grocery shopping to do, housework - hmmm, a woman's work and all that.... and some light gardening (well, when I say gardening, we have a small garden I (lovingly call a yard as it's so small compared to my old one), and my husband is in the very ssssssssllllloooooooowwwwww process of decking the entire garden (he wants a low maintainence one - which basically transcribes to - he can't be bothered and doesn't have the slightest bit of energy to be green fingered) so I am restricted pot plants,:grumble: however, I have 12 oober large pots so far, I'm growing veggies in most of them

I'm cooking a low fat chicken casserole for dinner tonight, so I'd better not forget to put the chicken in the oven whilst I'm pottering about today.

    Love to you all

Katherine - have a WONDERFUL time :drinker: It's only a few days in your life so enjoy it whole heartedly and don't give the calories a moments thought, just get back on track when you get home :flowerforyou:

Kathy - parking further away is an excellent idea :drinker: my hubby wants me to learn to drive, but I'm worried it will stop my walking

Jenny - I have to buy new shoes every 6-8 weeks - but I keep telling myself it's cos I stand funny, nothing to do with my addiction to walking

I'm having a stay at home day, did a lot yesterday in and out of the house, so I'm taking it easy today,
    (that's the plan anyay).

I can't believe the weekend is upon us already :noway: have a great one ladies

    Hi Ladies :flowerforyou:
    How's everyone getting on?
I hope Katherine is enjoying Ireland:flowerforyou:

I've had bad news from my sister, my father has lost his memory, doctor thinks it could be altzeimers, my mother's heart muscles are tightening (she's a diabetic) and my other sister's diabetes is out of control (injecting in the same area too often not helped). They expect me to go look after them, thing is, I haven't seen them for 5 years - my dad had his leg amputated, and wanted me to be his main carer, but my eldest sis became very jealous, causing lots of arguments and threatened to stab my husband. since then I have not spoken to them. There have been plenty of times in the past 22 years that I needed my parents, but they turne their backs on me, now they are ill, they want me to help them!

It could be that I'm just being over sensitive at this time - changing anti-depressants is stressing me out. My other sis is really trying to pull on the heart strings, but I'm worried that if I help, it will cause arguments again, and I really can't bear any more heart ache. I've only just got my diabetes under control the past year, and last night, I confort ate big time  Also, my mum never liked my husband, and tried to split us up 3 times, I really don't want to put my marraige at risk again. Neither of our sons want to see my parents - they've grown up only knowing my husbands mother as a grandparent, as my parents didn't want to know, they say they cannot feel supportive to someone that hurt me as much as they did.

I'm feeling really low this morning, just feel like crawling back into bed and having a good cry

AWWWWWW jackie jackie!!!!!!   I really feel for you you sweetie! What a tough situation! You have permission to go have a good cry there is nothing wrong with that! But just amek sure you get out of the bed again! *shakes head* I don't know what to even tell you. On one hand they are your parents and need help and on other hand...well all that other nasty stuff!!! What does your hubby think? Maybe just go once a week???? I think you need to do somethign for closures sake....if there is a death it will be hard to deal with (that is what my therapist told me when I was having issues with my father) But you also have to protect yourself too. There will be definetly hard times and your heart is giogn to hurt....but I think possibly you need to do it for yourself....but just be careful. Don't let them bring you down. Just go once a week or once every two weeks care for them and then repeat. But if it gets you in a tough situation just tell them, I want to help but i can't if this or that or the other thing is goign on. Don't expect anything from them. Don't expect thanks or kindness. If you don't expect it then you might be surprised. It actually helped with my relationship with my dad. My therapist told me that people can only give away what they carry inside. If they are unhappy, jealous, and angry people, then we can't expect them to treat us any different. JUst do a little to make it better on your concience and make a limit!!!! Just remember that YOU aren't the unhealthy one!!!! And as for your sister....it seems she has created her own problems!!! Another thing to always remember (I have it written on my fridge) is that you can't fix or make another person happy with their life. You are only i contol of YOUR life so make sure you concentrate on that! Becuase if you are happy that will spill out over to your kids your hubby and even your parents and sister. I hope this has helped....I am just telling you what I was told from my doctor....she is wonderful and helped me with my family problems....becuase they were just slowly eating away at me and causeing me such problems!!!

jackie I think you need to go outside and tune out the world....putter in your garden go for a walk or even go shopping!!! Do not forget yourself!!!

HUGS to you I hope will be ok!! Don't sweat last nights comfort food....just start again today! You are an amazing woman who has done so AWESOME!! You need to keep going for yourself becuase you deserve it!!!

Jenny - to be honest, I think I've worn the t-shirt for all your suggestions - they are good but mean little to my parents, they are the time to take what they want, and dump what they don't - animals and people included.
My hubby says it's my decision, but is worried that they will come between us again, and I just can't take that chance, my birth family died for me long ago, I've moarned their passing before they pass - does that make sense?
  • jennyeckel
    jennyeckel Posts: 209 Member
of course it makes sense jackie!!! You make sure you do what you need to do for YOURSELF. If that means steering clear then that is the thing to do. Your family meaning your husband and boys are you immediate concern. I think if that if your parents and sis are goign to put your happiness and your families happiness in jepordy then you need to distance yourself. Just remember that is what is improtant. Don't let them kick you around! I think that once you make the decision that you have to stand firmly by it. You are good woman and you need to remember it is ok to think of yourself! It is not selfish! You take care girly girl!!!! We are all here to support ya!!! Anytime you need to talk just come to us!! HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
