Like most folks, a lot going on in my life. Upcomig career change, kids going to college, and trying to avoid falling into the rut of the day-in day-out same boring routines. I do work out fairly regularly but need to really focus on eating healthier, sorta stuck at 230ish but would like to loose 10-15 lbs and keep them off. Looking for support and supporting others in the same boat.

I can identify with you and started MFP in December. My motivation was spurred by a severe infection that scared me into reality. This forum allows me to stay connected with like-minded people without any pressure. I have dropped more than 10 lb in 2 months and have significantly upped my fitness routines. Feel free to add me to your friends list. I am sure that we can help each other

It's just another stage of life.
Our fear can be that we're past our best. It's the fear that the stuff you've done in the past is your best work.

That's only the case if we try to compete with our younger selves in a youth arena.
That's why old guys buy fast cars, toupees and younger ladies.
    I say just MOVE ON!
Mid life should be a time to simplify things and enjoy living, making it a time for renewal of your body and mind, rather than stand by helplessly and watch them decline.

These days are the best days of my life!:drinker:

I did the "mid-life car thing". -It was either that, or installing a pool. At that time, I decided that I'd look better in a BMW than a bikini. And then I thought nope, I'm not gonna let that remain the same, it's time to BRING THE BIKINI BACK! So watch for me in the summer! I'll be cruising up 101 with the top down, music up and wearing that freaking bikini! YEP, at 40! -I'd hate to have to leave you in my dust...

Overall, this is YOUR TIME, make every moment enjoyable, whatever that is for YOU!

With the diet and exercise, you will notice a difference JUST by making small changes initially. Then, just build from there. You can do it!

My husband and I lived modestly, had great careers, and retired early. We work out, bike and hike, x-country ski, enjoy one another's company :blushing: and volunteer our business know-how and expertise to others. I joined MFP recently for the benefit of the food and exercise tracker. Best wishes on your journey FORWARD.
