Exercise Calories to Determine Total Cals

Hi everyone!
I'm pretty new to myfitnesspal, and had a quick question...I've been eating about 1200 calories/day because I haven't started working out yet, but am going to be starting this week at my new gym. How do you guys get an accurate read on how many calories you burn while on an elliptical or lifting weights to account for exercise calories and thus determine how many calories you eat a day (so my net doesn't go below 1200)?
Thanks in advance for all the help!

Most of us wear heart rate monitors. There's also accurate calorie calculators online. I wouldn't go by MFP calories because they tend to overestimate.0

Buy a Polar heart rate monitor, MFP exercise calories can be off as much as 300 calories. i eat back my exercise calories also, but sometimes give it a little wiggle room and leave a 100 deficit.0
