Hello! I recently found out I am pregnant (around 2 months now). I would like to continue using my fitness pal as I believe it has the largest database and most accurate calorie counting system out there. I am interested to know however, are there any pregnancy friendly websites that have similar features?

I think spark people has something similar, but I've seen people come here from there, so it's probably better here :) you should probably keep your calorie goal at maintenance for the remainder of your first trimester, then change it to gain 1 pound a week during the second and third. That's what I've seen recommended :)

    Congrats!
  • Sounds great! Thanks for the advice. This is my second pregnancy (I have a 2 year old daughter). After my daughter I developed a thyroid problem and didn't catch it till very recently. Thus, I am actually overweight this pregnancy. Do you think I should just keep it at maintenance then? Right now I'm hungry absolutely all the time, but my weight seems stable. The same thing happened in my first pregnancy at around the same time. I think I'm going to do what I can in terms of calorie counting and just workout. I'm really hoping to lose all the weight after baby #2 and I think MyFitnessPal will be a great help!

Set MFP to maintainence for now but if you are hungry eat. Your body is going to tell you when you need the food. If you eat healthy, clean foods you won't gain a ton of weight during your pregnancy. If you exercised before getting pregnant you can carry on with the same workouts while pregnant.

Also, this whole topic may be a good thing to discuss with your doctor on your next visit. Or request to speak with a nutrionist since Doctors don't tend to know too much on nutrion.

    Congrats!

Ask y our doctor what your calorie goal should be and then set it manually. Depending on how overweight you are they may have you set it to loose some or gain or maintain throughout.

    Good luck & Congratulations! :)
