Stamina.

I need some advice/tips on how to work on building my stamina.
Quick background on myself: I've always been overweight, but I was also super athletic, playing basketball & volleyball. Even though, although I could hang, my stamina wasn't the greatest. Now that I've been out of sports for some time now, my stamina has really taken a plung. I'm in the process of trying to quit smoking which I know will help, but as far as work out wise I need help.
I spend about an hour at the gym Monday through Friday. I switch up my routine normally, changing from treadmill to elliptical to arc trainer (not necessarily in that order).
Tips? Tricks? Advice?

Just keep at it! Increase your time a little bit more every week even if its just a minute or so keep increasing... you just have to work your way up but make sure that you stick with it! Good luck... :happy:
