Hey guys... does anyone out here have the Polar f7? I need to know if the watch works alone or if you HAVE to have the chest strap to in order for it to work properly?
Thanks for you help :-)
Edit: or if you know anything about the FT4 also...

Is it an FT7? I have an FT7 and yes, you have to have the chest strap. I'm not positive, but I believe all Polar HRMs need a chest strap.0

ALL HRMs need the chest strap to be accurate as that is what actually reads your Heart Rate. All other devices such as the fitbit, pedometers, etc. simply try and guestimate your burn by the way you are moving and are notoriously innacurate.
I have a polar ft7, and i LOVE it. I really really love it. At first I was upset that you have to use a chest strap (for some reason I always thought it was just the watch) but it's really no big deal, comfortable, and ALWAYS stays in place.
The different watches just read different things/have different programs, the item that actually does all the work in the chest strap.0 -
