Sleeping mat or yoga mat?

I'm going to a yoga workshop on Saturday and they said I needed to have my own yoga mat with me. I don't have one and I really don't feel like having more stuff to take with me when I move, I'm flying with only one suitcase. Could I use a sleeping mat as a yogamat? You know the ones you use for camping.

I struggled using a pilates mat to do yoga because it was too stretchy and slippy. These are the factors you need to consider. If your sleeping mat doesn't slip on the floor or under your hands, and it doesn't stretch (eg in Warrior), then it will be fine. If not, I'd invest in something which does the job properly.0

I would say you need a yoga mat. If you are serious enough to go to a workshop, you have a mat, right? They make travel mats that are really thin, or you could buy one at Target, REI, etc when you get there.0
