I injured myself, now what?

So I hurt myself badly while bikeriding and I'm pretty sure I've got a sprained knee and I can't bare much weight on my hip without it hurting. My husband insists I do nothing for a week or so until I've healed or I risk aggravating my injuries. But the idea of sitting around and 'doing nothing' makes me fairly unhappy. Is there anything I can do to keep physically active from the waste up? I know I can do some strength training, but what about cardio? How do I get my heart rate up without putting pressure on my right hip and knee?
I'm just so bummed out because I was doing so well.

I would suggest concentrating on healing and just watching your intake closely...sorry no suggestions as to what you can do physically...perhaps ask your doctor:flowerforyou:0

If it's just lower body that's hurting (e.g. the knee) you could work the upper body and abs in the meantime.
I'm in a similar boat - must rest my ankle for about 10 days. I can do other things, though, in the meantime, to keep myself going. I must admit, however, that I'm enjoying the time off exercise!0 -
I have seen tv shows directed towards fitness for the elderly (and infirmed) where they sit in a chair and do weights. You can still do something like that to keep active, to keep moving, to keep your workout schedule. :flowerforyou:0

Definately what myastyme said on calorie intake. If you can't burn 'em take in less but don't go below your minimum too.0
