Heading to BOSTON!!!! for a sox game this monday. Super excited.

We're spending the day in boston and will probably have both lunch and dinner (probably dinner at an italian restaurant in the north end). I'm wont be able to log things till the end of the night so wanted to know how people ballpark calories for the day?

Also, any basic dished/calorie intake for them (about). Such as an order of spaghetti, a bowl of healthy soup, a grilled chicken salad) ect.

Any advice would be awesome!

Writing everything down would help a lot. You may just have to overestimate most things, better to be safe than sorry. I just do the math in my head or I save it in my phone.... I figure a bowl of spaghetti is around 700 calories especially with the unhealthy noodles... salads, just be careful with the dressings, other than that you can see what's in it for the most part... good luck and just have fun! Don't worry TOO much about your calories, you don't want it running your life

Going over in calories every once in awhile will not kill you. As a matter of fact, I've found that doing that every once in awhile can actually give weight loss a kick in the pants. I was terrified that I'd gain weight when I had 3 events within 2 weeks that all involved food. But I did my best to make good choices-was not able to pre-calculate anything--and actually ended up losing 2lbs each week as opposed to 1lb the week prior.

So I say....Enjoy your day at the ballgame, make the best choices you can, and don't kick yourself if you end up going over because it won't kill you :)
  • Stay away from the Fenway Franks  and have fun! One day will not ruin your hard work. Go Sox!

I just returned for PA from a family reunion. That's all we ate was Italian food. I just ball parked my meals. I even had a little glass of red wine too.

1 to 2 pieces of pizza with a small salad w/2 TBSP dressing is a normal meal of @ 500C

    1 C pasta with meat sauce @350C

1 bowl itialian Wedding Soup dont' know the calories but couldnt be worse then pasta

Pick only 1 entree. Don't over do the bread & butter then bring out either:laugh: I probably had 1 piece.

Plus you'll be walking to the game so that's a exercise bonus:happy: I didn't loose any weight after a 1 week visit but I didn't gain any back so that was so nice. Just enjoy yourself & have a good time. You'll do great.

Chances are you'll be walking a lot, so keep that in mind, and keep track of that, too.

As silly as you may feel, write down everything as you go- just keep a small piece of paper and a pen in your bag or wallet, and keep track.

But, most importantly, HAVE A BLAST AT FENWAY!!! I'm SO jealous!

In case you couldn't tell from my picture, and ticker, I'm a die-hard Sox fan

Just enjoy yourself. While yeah you should try to pick something healthy, it won't sabotage your weight loss if you go over a little one day. Just work out hard the next day.
Ugh. I LOVE boston. I only get to go every few years but every time I go I love it. It's better than NYC in my opinion.

Ditto the advice of everyone else so far...
but drink a LOT of water, too. There's a lot of sodium in those sauces & ballpark foods. :grumble:
    Wash it all through!
    Walk a lot.
    Have a great time!
