well this doesn't answer your question but I wanted to point out that beans have lots of carbs along with the protein & fiber.0

OOPS... I meant only healthy carbs.. so no pasta, potatoes, breads, cereal... And that's what i don't get i just had a bowl of pinto beans which have 15 grams of fiber but yet im still under the amount the MFP is telling me to have.. so im just wondering if there's anything else i can add with out going over my carbs for the day...0

Try eating seeds (flax, sesame, etc) these mostly contain fat and some protein. You'll have to get grounded ones though so you're digest them. However, you can put grounded seeds in anything and they're fiber dense. Just don't over do as they do have a lot of fat in them hence a lot of calories.
If you're adventurous with trying new foods, eat seaweed or sea vegetable. Any kind of seaweed/sea vegetable will have a whole lot of fiber (they're virtually all fiber) and very little calories. And they have a lot of minerals that you can't typically get much of without eating seafood.
I don't really understand how you could be low on fiber though if you're eating large vegetable portions multiple times a day. And if you're eating fruits, that makes it even easier.0 -
Im not eating fruits ... I just wonder if that's the correct number that MFP is giving me.... How much fiber is everyone else doing??
I heard that about sea veggies.. i just can never get myself to buy it and make it..0 -
I take fiber pills and i'm always OVER on my fiber which I consider a good thing!!! I only take the reccomended amount of the fiber tabs too, so it's not like i'm taking too many of them!0

why no pasta? Why no potatoes? Why no cereal? There are plenty of healthy choices for these items. I have whole wheat pasta about 2 to 3 times a week, I have potatoes a couple times a week, and cereal almost every morning. There are healthy choices for all of these, and all contain good amounts of fiber.0

Not sure what veges you are eating, but fennel has a lot of fiber. I usually boil it for about 15 or 20 minutes first, then drain. Drizzel with olive oil (like 1 or 2 grams only - less than 1 teaspoon) and sprinkle parmesan cheese over. Then bake in the oven for about 15 min until the cheese gets melted and semi-crunchy. You can eliminate the cheese if you like and it's still really good.0

Fiber demands are usually grossly overrated.
If you're eating a variety of veggies including leafy greens, you'll be fine and regular.
I eat no gluten, no grains, no sugar and I have no problems in uh, THAT department. So if you're very low carb, don't sweat it. Eat the veggies and you'll be good.0 -

I have to agree with the expert here. I eat brown rice, Fibre 1 cereal and quinoa as well as the occasional potato and they are all healthy choices of carbs. It works for me. My fibre intake is usually between 35 and 40.

I set my fiber at 30g per day (25g/day recommended for women so MFP is low)--and I usually go over. These days I'm getting most of it from vegies and fruit, and some from healthy cereals like kashi golean and also whole grain sprouted bread. I also love beans! As far as vegies go, beets and okra have a lot of fiber. Blackberries have lots of fiber. Be sure to drink plenty of water too!0
