Afraid to take an exercise break

Good morning
I have heard that you need to rest one day a week but I am concerned that it would start a trend for me and I would get off track. I also have heard that you should workout seven days a week. I would like to hear your comments on the subject.
Thanks

Hiya,
Personally I think its good to have one or two rest day to let your muscles recover a bit. I normally have Fridays off...But its entirely up to you, as long as you dont feel like you are overdoing it then do it every day if thats what you like to do! I know what you mean about losing motivation but I dont think one day would do that, it doesnt for me anyway! and if you do feel like you haven't got the enthusiasm, come on here and Im sure people will motivate you :-)

I find having the break boosts my motabalism a bit, I normally still walk on rest days, but I wont do anything else, and I dont beat myself up if I dont walk or whatever, but I'm careful of what I eat on those days.
I'm having a rest day tomorrow, had 2 hard days, and I'm working later tomorrow, and have an appointment in the morning so wont have much time to do anything, so I'm using it as a day off, then I intend to go to the gym Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun, and think my schedule dictates I wont get to go either Mon/Tues or possibly both!
I think its a good idea to have a rest, I also find with things like my running, after a rest day I come back stronger and always improve with significance.0
