Exactly what I was thinking, there's caffeine and green tea in that drink.
What gives Celsius® its calorie burning power?
Celsius is powered by a select, scientifically validated combination of quality ingredients, such as Green Tea with EGCG, Ginger, Calcium, Caffeine, Chromium, B vitamins and vitamin C that work together to raise metabolism over a 3 hour period, resulting in a sustained calorie burn and increased energy. It's these ingredients that gives Celsius its fire. The right ingredients in the right combination!
Our Thermogenic proprietary blend, MetaPlus™, includes:
Green Tea Extract with EGCG - Green tea and green tea extracts have been shown to have positive effects on metabolism and antioxidant activity. EGCG is one of the important components of Green Tea Extract that is known to enhance metabolism.
Caffeine - The most commonly consumed drug in the world. Naturally occurring in a variety of popular beverages, to food supplement products people use everyday, caffeine has proven to be truly safe and effective. Most known for its ability to reduce fatigue and enhance alertness, caffeine has also been clinically tested as a metabolic accelerator and renowned for its thermogenic effects. Clinical trials have shown increases in metabolic rate after caffeine ingestion. Research also shows caffeine is absorbed by the body better in liquid form than pill form and takes only 15-20 minutes to get into your blood and begin working. Celsius delivers beyond the benefits of energy and caloric burning. Caffeine is also popular among sports enthusiasts, because it improves performance and endurance during long exercise and enhances short-term, high intensity athletic performance.
Guarana - A natural source of caffeine found in food supplements. Our guarana extract is derived from the seeds of the plant. Indigenous Amazonian people used guarana as a stimulant and tonic long before the first European explorers arrived. In addition to caffeine, guarana contains large amounts of tannins that have antioxidant activity.
Ginger Extract - The gingerols are the plant components of ginger that impart a warm, spicy taste. Ginger exerts positive effects on the digestive and central nervous systems.e digestive and central nervous systems.0 -

The first rule of a good scam is to promise "fast results" with "no effort".
Celsius is another dressed-up energy drink with whopping amounts of caffeine and caffeine-like substances.
Which means that: A) a lot of people will experience nasty side effects (as they would with any massive ingestion of caffeine) andany "positive" effects will be extremely short term. It's not like you can drink this stuff every day for the rest of your life (well, I guess you can, but it won't be for very long), and the minute you stop--everything comes back with a vengeance.
There is a reason why, with all the thousands of "diet' products and tens of millions of dollars of advertising, most people are still overweight. And that is because NONE of them work long term.0 -
