I just made a huge batch of salsa AND my hands are on fire from the hot peppers! Does anyone have a suggestion of what to do? I usually wear latex gloves when I've made it before but for some stupid reason I forgot and washing only makes it worse! I used 1/2 of what the recipe called for and I am glad cuz this batch I think is still going be HOT!! Who wants to come to Montana for a taste???

Milk will work but beer works better. I would pour a beer into a bowl and soak your hands. good luck, been there, just don't touch your eyes or face :blushing:

I would love to have some hot salsa, love hot and spicy food.
Today I just had a chicken on a WW bun with sweet and hot peppers.:explode:

On more than one occasion, after cutting hot peppers, AND after washing my hands, I made the mistake of touching my eye.:noway:
Yeppers, the oils are still on your fingers.
In the past I just washed my hands several times. So, I will have to remember about beer.

    FYI,
If you do have an occurence where you eat TOO much hot pepper, I've heard you can drink milk, but 1 tsp of sugar DEFINATELY works, used it many times to cool off my mouth.

I hope the beer worked well.
I can't imagine how tasty your salsa is!
Any chance it's a recipe you want to share?
