I’m the social media intern at the Cradle of Aviation Museum on Long Island, and apparently I’ve been doing a good job because my boss has asked me to get an upcoming event on Letterman. In doing research, I’ve found that to pitch to Letterman, you basically need to know someone - they do not accept “unsolicited” pitches. Which means as a nobody from nowhere who doesn’t know anyone, I’m a little bit behind in this. Naturally, as the social media intern, I’m putting social networking to the test - and I’m offering a prize. If you can get me someone who can get me someone who can give me a name and number for someone who can get me to the Letterman people, I will make you cookies. Seriously, cookies. For you, and everyone in the chain that leads me to these people, even if the answer is ultimately no. I’ve posed this challenge, complete with cookie offer, to my networks on Facebook, Twitter, Ravelry and Linkedin as well.

By the way, the event is our second-annual “pumpkin drop.” Museum visitors are invited to bring their leftover pumpkins the day after Thanksgiving and drop them from the second-story balcony of the museum’s atrium. It’s hilarious to watch.

I'm not THAT helpful, but I think he's a baseball fan. NY Mets? so my bet is try to reach someone THERE that would know letterman's people, since he likely has season passes and all that. I bet that'd be easier.

another thought....even if you don't manage to get them there, get someone to do a good filming of it, with you or someone reporting, then youtube. It'd probably go viral, because that sounds like a lot of fun. :)

Targets in chalk on the ground?

Prizes for who hits the bull's eye?

    I'm a director of 3 offices of a non-profit myself. :)
