Hi, Whenever I do any exercise and log it into my diary at the end of the day it says I am under my calorie goal.
Do you HAVE to eat the extra calories you earn???
Will it effect weight loose, toning up if you don't??

Thanks for any advice

There's a lot of facts and myths behind whether to or not.

Providing I've eaten my daily allowance and I've got all my nutrients and vitamins I personally don't, I have it mentally set in my mind as undoing all my hard work.

Everyone has different views on it, its your personal choice. Try eating them back for 2 weeks and see if you can notice a difference and then try NOT eating them back for 2 weeks and compare the results :)

Edit: Although saying that, I ALWAYS have a pre-workout meal and a post-workout meal to refuel my body. Also if I have burned 1000+ calories and my net calories are something ridiculous then I do eat if I'm hungry.

You've got to remember that unless you've changed the settings yourself then MyFitnessPal automatically sets your daily calories allowance so that you can lose weight WITHOUT exercise taken into account.

If the number you use for your calories burned from exercise is accurate - HRM or bodybugg or fitbit etc - then yes eat them back. Your calorie total already includes your target deficit for the day. If you don't net your goal then your deficit is larger than planned. If it gets too big your loss will slow.
If you are using MFP exercise numbers know that they tend to be high so I would be cautious about eating 100% of thaose numbers -50-80% of those would be more realistic.

If you want to get a good handle on you targets and how to have both your deficit and activity level built in then check out this link

MFP is going to give you inaccurate numbers most likely.. invest in an HRM with a calorie counter for best results. Mine is New Balance and it was only $79 at Target. When I first got started and had a significant amount of weight to lose, I didn't eat them back. I feel for me that was the best option. I got the extra weight off pretty quickly and I am overall much much healthier now. I have to have to have to eat my exercise calories now tho. My fitness levels have greatly increased and my workouts take a lot of fuel. It is normal for me to have all my calories gone (1300) by the time I make it to the gym, burn 500-800 in an hour, and when I get home be super hungry. I set my net to a 1 lb loss and I am staying consistent with that. Logging everything and the HRM are the keys to my success.

I try to eat back some of them especially if it drops my weekly net calories below a certain level. I feel sluggish and cranky the next day if I dont eat back at least some of them, sometimes my hunger does not kick in till the next day so I will have a bigger breakfast then. Find what works best for you and still allows you to lose/maintain your weight
