    Thursday Truth
In a nutshell, i am on a borrowed iPhone cause my computer bit the dust ... and don't know how to, and right now i don't much care ... copy and paste ... to report for the weight challenge.

@Ana if you spot this post my weight is up this week. I came in at 240

I don't know if I will be able to still use this phone for next week, and am pretty certain will still be without online access ... so maybe it will be that I am done for now.

@Robin, if you follow the link by clicking on the names of the posters you asked about you will see info about the last time they logged into MFP. Most are still using the app.

A few of the folks have stopped by during this year to give an update and I wish I could remember what everyone had said, sorry.

    Summer Heat
    Name: Karen
    Age: 47
    Height: 5' 7"

My optional challenges are going to be to hit 100+ grams of protein/day and to walk/run 40 miles/week.

    Start weight (week of July 5): 198.4; days 100+ g protein = 5/7; 24.26 miles
Goal weight (Saturday September 16): 185

    Weigh in week of:
    July 12: 197.8; 5/7 days 100+ g protein; 26.72 miles
    July 19: 197.8; 4/7 days 100+ g protein; 26.11 miles
    July 26: 197.2; 3/7 days 100+ g protein; 25.01 miles
    August 2: 197.4; 2/7 days 100+ g protein; 21.92 miles
    August 9: 197.4; 1/7 days 100+ g protein; 22.28 miles
    August 16: 201.2; x/7 days 100+ g protein x miles
    August 23: x/7 days 100+ g protein x miles
    August 30: x/7 days 100+ g protein x miles
    September 6: x/7 days 100+ g protein x miles
    September 13: x/7 days 100+ g protein x miles
    Final weight September 16:

    Weight +/- this week: +3.8
    Weight +/- total: +2.8

Protein goal: No excuse for my lack of logging; not traveling--just being extremely lazy.
Mileage: My mileage was actually a little better than this, but I forgot to wear my fitbit 2 days last week. Still, none of that mileage was from running which is really the point of the challenge. :(

@robinB-- I'm friends with laurie and susan on FB and though both have gotten away from the thread, they are still working toward their goals. Susan had WLS a while back and recently posted that she has lost a total of 107 lbs thus far. Laurie is traveling a lot prior to starting back to her teaching job soon. Kelley (kah68) and I have communicated via email, but it's been quite a while. She was still focused on her job search after receiving a certification in May.

AFM-- Wow, what a retched week. That is all.

    Happy Saturday Everyone!!!

We have reached week # 6 of our Summer Heat Challenge!!

First of all, my apologies for being late with our weekly report. This is the 1st time in like 15 years that I don’t bring my laptop with me to a trip … and needless to say on Wednesday I realized I could not write my little report!!

I wish I had better news, but almost everyone who reported their weigh-in data this week went up :'( … except for 4 members, which together they loss gross amount of 4.1lbs (well done!)

What happened to us this week? I know its summer and a lot of us are taking vacation, tons of social events, etc but why are we letting ourselves go just because of this?

I think we need to find a way to be able to continue with our weight loss journey regardless of these events, don’t you think? I know its easier said than done (since I am one of the people who gained weight ….).

I was looking for a couple of ideas online and found the following “articles” that thought could be good to take a look … might be help, might not, but worth sharing:

@happygirlxxx thanks for the weekly update. And yup sometimes life is just like that. I was a bit surprised so many of us were up. But i wasnt surprised by mine. When you have a cold and are working mostly 12 hrs per day still....well i ate out a lot. I am back on track this week. Whether i show a loss or a gain cause its TOM time :/ .... i am proud i am eating way better and back to exercising more.

And yes...some exercise ideas or something to shake things up while on vacation isnt a bad idea. :p

For me i am looking forward to vacation. End of september....i will drop down to just 6 days work per week. I am sooooo loking forward to it :)

@cellosmiles awesome that you are back on track ... I am trying too! but after eating so much this last week now I feel like I am hungry every minute :/

However, I am I am glad as well I have changed the way I ate .. my meals were composed of McDonalds at least 3 times a week ... I had a cheeseburger, fries, nuggets and a ice cream ... terrible I know!!! and I would we at my office like 10 hours a day, at my desk, hardly moving. I was soooo tired all the time ... I would get home and all I could think of was calling McDs to deliver the food ... all I had in my kitchen was diet coke, crackers and cheese :s

Hope your cold is gone; working so many hours a day and not feeling well must be annoying.

Monday check in: I'm either way over in calories or way under...today was the first day back to school for us and I think the routine helped, I killed it on the water intake and I have to go find something to eat to get up to the minimum to close out my day, not sure on the steps cause my tracker bit the dust but I was pretry active. All in all a good day. Oh and I'm down from last weeks weight in, just not back to my lowest yet but getting there.

I swore today was Wednesday. It's been one of those weeks ... and it's only Tuesday!

I injured my back over the weekend ... not sure what did it. I was doing great with my goals until this happened. Love them curveballs!

Hope everyone is having a great week.

Still without a computer and don't have my chart ... but this mornings weight is
    240.2.

    Wednesday truth :
It will be at least another 5 days before my computer comes back from the fix-it shop with a new hard drive and then I still need to install my apps and do the settings before attempting to restore the data ... which might end up being more difficult to do than it need be because of technical difficulties.

My weight shot way up the past couple of weeks but has been coming down rapidly the past few days ... water weight from too many carbs and sodium rich foods. The affect of the sodium has also been to raise my blood pressure to dangerous heights. So it is beyond time to get on the healthy living train.

Have a good week everyone and enjoy these late summer days as best you can.

HA! Found the last time I posted my chart and learned how to copy and paste on this iPhone. It is very apparent that I will not achieve my weight loss goal this challenge. And have to be honest with myself that ever since I participated in an extended family picnic at the end of July that I have been completely off any disciplined eating and activity pattern. This coincides with the pc issues that consumed me since then.

Another glitch that points to how easy it is to revert to old habits. A lesson that becomes unlearned like the drunk who falls off the wagon ... all that can be done is start at step one again....

Making progress ... slowly, but progress none the less.
    1. I hit my activity goal last week until Sunday came around. I injured my back somehow so I will not be doing any activity until that is sorted.
    2. I am not drinking enough water. I need to figure that one out. You'd think it's an easy one ...
    3. I joined another Eating Clean challenge, eh, failing this one again. It's hard to do it when you don't like half the food you are expected to eat.

Until my back is all better my goals are to stay within my calories and drink more water.

Weight loss so far (since 1/1/2017): 83.2

Additional Weight loss / Fitness goals I would like to achieve this summer:
    1. add walking indoors 3x/week--none--just too hot outside or raining (that's my excuses).
    2. resistance exercise: none this week--just too busy at work to get to the gym.
    3. monitor weight loss & daily calories and adjust--still at 2200 cals/day but too short a few times.
