I absolutely hate to run, but I know I need to do it in order to meet my fitness goals. I did the 'couch to 5K' program, but can really only do about 2 miles. I need to stay motivated and push through the pain. Any advice/tips from runners our there?

Running is overcoming the head game (I think), and it is about being consistent and getting out there and just doing it. I am a little concerned about 'push through the pain', what kind of pain are you referring to?

Why do you "have" to? I never understood why people do things they hate to do.

Thanks guys! As for the "pain", it's more like side aches and that sort of thing. It's not excrutiating, but it seems that once I feel a twinge I just get up. And for the reson I do it, one of my personal fitness goals is to run a 5K. I have a problem with setting goals and then not completing them, so for me it will be such a huge deal to finish a 5K without walking.

Why set a goal to do something that you hate to do? Isn't there any other form of exercise that is enjoyable to you? Tennis, maybe? Riding a bike? Hopscotch? I don't know how to cause you to enjoy something that you hate. I think you won't stick to it if you hate it, unless you just like to torture yourself. :ohwell:
