I would like to know if about 200 carbs a day is too much or not. My diary is open, so feel free to check it out. It is the amount that MFP defualted me on.

Edit: I am a 5'7" female, 134 pounds wanting to get down to 120 pounds and toned

    If you have a medical condition that prevents you from processing carbs like most ... then you should think about low carb

    For many MFP is about lifestyle changes ..... how are you going to eat long term? I don't "low carb" but I have changed the "type" of carbs I eat. I try to eat less processed carbs now (think junk food) .... white flour, white sugar .... empty calories & look for more "whole foods"

    Make sure you are getting enough protien. Some types of fat are actually healthy, and make sure your fiber numbers are good. The number of carbs ... will fall into place.

    I do eat good carbs, whole wheat, non junk food types. So, do you think 200 is too much?

    Also, is it healthy to go a bit over on protein? like about 100 grams? Check out my diary to see what I mean...

    PS. Protein is good for you right? I am completely clueless, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

    In general, for a bit of weight loss

    Assuming no intolerances or other medical reasons to limit them, it is fine

    I eat 200+ carbs per day. I don't have an issue with it.

    Allot of people on here seem to follow the rule of 40,30,30. 40%carb 30% fat and protein. If your just starting out and don't know much maybe this is a good place to start then once you see what works best for you adjust your macros as needed.
