Looking for ideas for a low carb diet and thought it would be useful to have a thread for anyone else in the same boat.

Most of the things I've found online are generally vegetable/meat based which makes sense but may not be the most tasty thing without nice seasoning!

If you want protein to be properly used and stored, you need carbohydrates. Just do "smart carb" instead of low/no carb.

For example, try almond flour/meal instead of white/wheat flour. Super high in nutrients, and very tasty (white flour tastes like paste compared to almond flour!)

Make or buy a high-protein and fiber granola (like Main Street bakery Granola) and pair it with unsweetened Greek yogurt. Amazing.

Eat fruit instead of bread. Fruit is a carb, but one packed with nutrients, unlike white bread.

You may want to consider talking once or twice to a nutritionist. I was shocked at how helpful she was in simply helping me find the proper foods for my lifestyle.

Best of luck in your journey!

Big Breakfast Spinach and pepper Omlet! - I had this morning!

Organic or natural x-Large Eggs, 2 eggs
Spinach - Raw, 1 cup -thawed
    Grape Seed Oil 1 tsp
Milk - Goat, 1 fl oz
    Onions - Raw, 0.5 small
    Redmond Real Salt
    pepper
    Pimento
    garlic powder
    Mixed Frozen Peppers, 0.5 cup
Cheese - Goat, soft type, 1 oz
Cabot - Greek Style Yogurt Plain 10% Milk Fat,

Fry onions and peppers in grape seed oil - then lower heat
Mix scramble eggs with goat milk then mix in spinach
Pour into pan with onion and peppers
Cook until eggs are done and a little liquid forms in the pan
Remove pan from heat and mix and melt goat cheese to absorb liquids.
Move onto plate and a heaping tablespoon or more of 10% fat yogurt on the eggs to tingle taste buds.
    Enjoy - yum!

You can lower the fat by six grams by eliminating the cheese -- the yogurt can give enough full flavor if you won't want as much fat. I need about 40 grams of fat per day to keep from getting hungry so I always include extra fats. If you eliminate the peppers, you can take out 6 grams of carbs and 3 grams of sugar.
