I have 2 extra ribs from birth placed above my clavicles, that's the reason i cannot lift heavy cuz i can risk thrombosis and other unpleasant things. From tiem to time I'm doing push-ups and the resistance band is a great idea, I'm gonna purchase one. But my question is: should I do every day cardio and then some strenght training using my body weight or should I alternate them and how long should I exercise a day? Thanks

You're right I'm already surprised on how much can I eat. I've almost always eaten under 1500 calories and I almost haven't lost anything. Thank to myfitnesspal now I know I can eat :)

execise as much as you want, dont kill your self keep it comfortable 30 min to 1 hour is ideal in your case

and please get some professional advise regarding your case as im not certified to answer such situation and a professional will be more suited to answer this question for u :)

ideally, u will alternate them one day cardio and one day body weight or band and 2 days off :)

It seems like maqsmj has given you spot on nutrition advice, I think you will be surprised by what and how much you can eat. As m said remember to eat your fats, so important for women.

    thanks :)

I have 2 extra ribs from birth placed above my clavicles, that's the reason i cannot lift heavy cuz i can risk thrombosis and other unpleasant things :) I used to go at a gym with some women but one of them weighs almost double than me and the other is heavier too. I was lifting light, feeling good but they seem like they didn't understand why I cannot lift at the same pace with them so I felt weird and I quit. Whenever I was lifting harder I wasn't feeling good. Gonna check her blog :)

You will get quite a lot of benefit from lifting, whether it be heavy or not. Could you lift at home using either dumbbells or even resistance bands?

ETA: just noticed you mentioned looking into resistance bands.

I'll be fine, before finding out about them (at 19) I was doing all the normal things, never bothered me but I still don't want to risk and lift heavy :)

Generally it is best to do lifting and cardio on different days (or limit cardio on lifting days to about 30 minutes after the lifting session). As a rule of thumb, 3 days lifting and 2 - 3 days cardio is good. However, as your resistance training is relatively light by necessity you could do a bit more cardio the same day if you wanted.

You should get 1 - 2 rest days a week. You can walk or do 'active recovery' during these days but any exercise should be really light.

The Best Piece of Weight Loss Advice Ever Exercise is not a license to eat. “All too often clients believe that any exercise gives them permission to eat more,” says Moore, “The truth is, it rarely balances out calories consumed.”

Thanks, yes I'm using dumbbells 3 lbs and planning to buy heavier ones and a resistance band. What time should I have my last meal?

Any time you like. Meal timing is largely irrelevant.

If TDEE is equivalent to metabolic heart rate then I know that in 12 hours of doing nothing (I tested with my HRM) I burn 1400 calories.

    Wrong tool, invalid data.

    Inflated figures.

HRM if used for estimating calories is only valid tool for steady-state aerobic level cardio.

Not lifting, not intervals, not below exercise levels.

I didn't say it was equivalent, it was a question, I should have refolmulated it :)
    ''Wrong tool, invalid data.
Inflated figures. "-why do you say this?

Even if you eat at 11pm and then you go to bed?

Because it is. HRM formula for calorie burns are for aerobic level, out side of that it's inflated. Whether on high end or low end.
Wearing all day was low end, massively.

    Sure.

If it's excess carbs not needed for restoring glucose levels, and not needed for immediate energy needs, it's being stored as fat, no matter if you are about to go to sleep or have 3 more hrs before you do.

If it's protein and you have muscles to repair it's going to be used whenever, bed time even better since that is body's main repair time.

Yep. I do it often! It's an old myth that you shouldn't eat close to bedtime.

You were right, my TDEE is over 2000, I should eat between 1600-1800 calories to lose weight. Thanks
