Well clearly all the Lysol spraying I did in this thread was absolutely no help. Diana...you've had that bug for way too long.
Rest and get well wishes to all the sick lushes!
Gary, congrats on the weight loss..your dr is going to be thrilled!
I had 0 last night after a very lushy Monday night.
Pool time today. Must force myself to stay away from the vodka0 -
Pool time?! Lucky woman!! I wish I didn't live in Kansas

Lusy weekend=non-lushy week. I had one grapefruit/vodka on Monday and nothing on Wednesday...mostly because I'm in the throes of PMS (sorry to our mens for the TMI) and I'm eating ALL THE FOOD right now, so I run out of cals for vodka.
The men can share tmi too- for example:
Sometimes we men poop our pants-
AND-
don't even know it.
UNTIL-
We change our underwear-
AT-
The end of the week.
CHEERS!0 -
Monday - 0
Tuesday - beer and wine
Wednesday - who knows
45 here so I'm airing out the house and cleaning. Time for laundry :grumble:0 -
Tues - pint of Magners and 3 glasses of wine = 4
i LOVE magners!
i am not a fan of the michelob cider. i think it's icky.
12oz bottle of magners - 125 calories
Well crap! I got bad info from MFP. It told me 233 calories for a pint. Actually its 167! Bottoms up.
woohoo!!
i'm a total hard cider *kitten* and did a crazy calorie vs. taste vs. alc % expedition. :drinker:
For me, magners is the best of the bunch, strongbow a close second. :bigsmile:0 -
My husband is talking about going for drinks with a buddy tonight. That means I get to catch up on Teen Mom 2. This may call for some of that white in the fridge....or maybe I'll grab some Magers!0

re: the youtube link.
And that's why we men should all wear brown underwear.
muh-ha-ha-ha!
Thanks for the link. We have the same sense of humor!0 -
Briget, your pic is adorable!
If I have 3 oz of vodka all in one big ol glass...that still counts as 1 drink, right?0 -

Thanks Sydney- She (the nurse prac) was very happy. Not only was I down 7 lbs from Oct, but my triglycerides had dropped from 300 to 150 and my good cholesterol was up. I even told her of my workout- which as we know is our little secret.0 -
Fantastic results, Gary!
And my lips are sealed.

Husband didn't go out, but did go to the basement to watch 2 episodes of The Walking Dead, so I caught up on my trash. I will be drinking all weekend, that I am sure of. Off work tomorrow and parents are in town, plus Sunday is St. Pattys Day.0 -
So since I can't post how much I have been drinking, but I have still been keeping up with you all, I thought I would post a question that maybe you (especially moms) can weigh in on.
My friend that recently had a baby said she would have a glass of wine (4 oz) once or twice a week once she got past her first trimester. For me I feel like that is just a tease, I'm an all or nothing kind of person and I think once little glass will just make me want more. I had another friend who's doctor told her 4 oz a day is ok. What are your thoughts?0 -
I'm old school (or just old), Chloe and say just say no to alcohol during pregnancy.
As you pointed out, why even bother with 4oz? I suppose if you were in a social situation where you wanted to toast someone or something you could go for it. Altho I imagine people would give you grief for even sipping on alcohol if they knew you were pregnant.
How are you feeling? I don't remember even craving alcohol when I was pregnant but I sure as hell did once my son was born. Colic is a horrible thing, and drinking helped. Lots of pumping and dumping going on in my house :laugh:0 -
I'm actually feeling really good. And I am totally craving wine, but I think I would be so guilty while drinking it that I wouldn't even be able to enjoy it anyways. Maybe I'm old school too
Oh yea and I totally plan on pumping and dumping! 0 -
Not a mom but I know lots of people who drank, small amounts, while pregnant...like champagne at a shower or a glass of red wine at a party. I, like you Chloe, am all or nothing....who wants the teaser
Syd, I hear you with old school BUT when my parents and lots of my friends parents were pregnant they all drank and smoked and I am not talking about 4oz either :laugh:0 -
Chloe, I'm not a mom and I've never been pregnant, however I would say I would abstain from alcohol. I'm with you on the fact it's all or nothing. Why even bother? I don't know of any of my friends who drank while pregnant.
Kate, I'm with you....my parents and my parents friends drank AND smoked while pregnant. It's amazing we all turned out ok! :laugh:0 -
I didn't drink anything (ok, so a tiny sip of wine a couple times just to taste it....) untill right at the very end of my 2nd tri. I had a girls weekend and had about 6 oz of wine maybe. I remember being 8 months prgnant with my girlfriends at Christmas dinner (out) and drank probably 1.5 - 2 glasses of wine out of their bottles. Every now and again in 3rd tri I'd have a glass of wine. And I'd do it in public. You know how much they drink in Europe?!
But while I do really like getting a buzz, and sometimes even flat out getting drunk, I absolutely love wine, its taste and how it pairs with food. THAT was hardest for me, so yes, I craved wine throughout and towards the end, just wanted to get drunk. Of course it was totally worth abstaining (minus maybe 2 bottles total during my entire pregnancy) for my kidddo. After she was born, I'd have a glass or two and still nurse, but very early that upset her tummy (refluxy baby) so for the first 2-3 months of her life, I didn't even drink that much. Finally I got smart and started drinking excessively again and pumping and dumping (which I also used to make myself feel guilty about....I HATED wasting breast milk). Anyways, it all worked out and my kid is perfectly normal!

I was so stressed with my second child that the doctor told me to go home and put my feet up and have a small glass of sherry and chill. This was during my last trimester. My daughter turned out georgeous and brilliant I was pregnant during the80's when everyone was abstaining from everything. My doctor was really old school and thought it was a better way to relax me than medications.
My whole generation (boomers) were born to a lot of women who had daily cocktails. Granted these were 1960 girly cocktails so not much booze and they all really only had one. but it was a tension releiver for them. I turned out okay and so did so many others born at that time. You just really need to do what is right for you.
I am hanging in there. Ear ache is still there but it isn't killing me anymore. Gotta get back to work. I am being watched. :noway:0 -

I would crave beer in the afternoon while I was pregnant and would have one, very slowly. I lived in Germany at the time and it was acceptable with the docs. I am still trying to figure out if my kids are OK tho, LOL.
Do what's best for you and what your doctor is comfortable with. The booze has to go thru your liver first before it gets to the baby.
