Good Morning!
I guess I didn't post yesterday, thought I did.....oh well!
8Km run for me yesterday, loving to run in the nice warm temps. Not hot, but just right. Today will be Jillian Michaels, not sure which DVD I will do but one of them for sure. My legs are feeling a bit tired this morning so we'll see how it goes. I was looking on Amazon and see that there is a bundle of her DVD's that I don't have for $34 or so. I'm thinking about ordering them.
To all those who do some sort of DVD, what are your favorites? I would be looking more for a cardio/strength type, I like the strength a lot.
Pam - nice that you got your workout in with the weather being so nice. Makes such a difference!
ctpeace - I have one Insanity DVD, its called Fast and Furious. And I honestly could NOT keep up with him. I mean, are all the Insanity videos so fast?
Sherry - WTG on the run!! Feels so good when you're done doesn't it?
Toni - I think your rain has found me! lolol Hope you were able to get your w/o in today!
Jules - you had an awesome day!! WTG on all the exercise I can't wait to get my bike out, I guess its now that time of year!0 -
Morning all...
Maureli- I did get it in yesterday.. yes and should today. The Rain is moving to across the country. I still hope I will work myself up to being consistent with running. Your awesome
I feel more accountability when I check in first thing ...keep striving toward your goals. Have a great day0 -
Good day to each of you! I think the rain is coming our way tonight which is good for our veggies and fruit trees...bring on the rain:happy:
P90X Chest & Back…push-up and pull-up alley! For the pull-up moves I used the resistance tube because of no pull-up/chin-up bar available. All of the push-up moves done this morning were from my knees (5 different variations done totaling 79 push-up reps…skipped the Dive-bomber push-ups). I increase dumbbell size from last week’s 13.75 to 15 lbs while doing the Heavy Pants and the Back Flys (weight was much too heavy for this particular move so less reps done). One round out of two done with this DVD making it a 28 minute session…whew!
Maureen: that DVD bundle pack of JM's exercises sounds like a good deal at amazon. My favorite DVD with regards to strength are the P90X and the Chalene Extreme. I like to mix the two up most of the time. I do want something new soon for cardio. What's a good Zumba DVD? WTG getting in a GREAT run yesterday and hope your legs still have the strength to get you through Jillian Michaels later today.
Toni: good to see ya this morning and like you, I like checking in here too. We can never have enough Pals that are sooo positive about their health & fitness.
Have a Thankful day everyone!0 -
Hey everybody!!!
Maureen, I really like Jillian Michaels, especially the quick ones (30 Day Shred & Ripped In 30) for just the reason that they include everything (cardio, strength, and abs) and don't take much time. I've tried Burn Fat Boost Metabolism (cardio) and No More Trouble Zones (strength)...but just couldn't commit because they are much longer workouts. But I also love LOVE LOOOVE Fitness Blender! (Toni is using their workouts regularly too. I'm on a break due to the Hunger Games Challenge.) They've got ANYTHING you want! You might try some short HIIT cardio videos from them combined with Pilates for strength. Or you can find a video combo of those two things, I'm sure. They launch a new website in about a week that will allow you to search for type of workout, length of time, type of equipment, etc, etc so it'll be easier to find what you're looking for. Check 'em out!
Pam, you amaze me with the p90x workouts!! I seriously get tired just reading what you are doing!! I want so bad to be able to do pullups and we have a bar, but I just can't do it yet. I think I need to give the bands a try!
Toni, keep it up!! Accountability is a very good thing!!
Okay you guys....I don't know WHAT's going on, but today, I ran for 48 minutes STRAIGHT, hill and all!!! I wasn't huffing and puffing or wheezing and frankly, IT WAS EASY!! In fact, I thought of going for 60minutes, but my stomach was feeling like it was starting to digest itself b/c I hadn't gotten to eat...that's when I realized: my legs weren't going to stop and my lungs weren't going to give out and I needed to listen to the one body part that was communicating with me and just stop. So, for my stomach's sake, I stopped, took the pace way down for a nice walk until my son was done with his lessons and then got dinner with my sweet boy on the way home.
Anyway, I'm thrilled, because I really loved it and I think I'm on my way to becoming a "runner". Unfortunately, I was busy all day today and didn't get any HG exercises done. I also didn't get anything done last night b/c I was just too sore and tired (and chafed...yikes!). SO, I need to get on that tonight!0 -
Pam cute new profile picture. I like the short cut.
Sherry great job on the run. I think I could kick things into the next gear. If I could just start running....I have to do way better this month no excuses and other things will have to wait....0 -
60 minute yoga class today!0

Hi everyone,
I was planning on getting a 3 mile run in today but work got in the middle and I am WAY TOO tired to get a run in now! I was also starving today probably because I exercised so much yesterday and didn't eat that much. I still was successful in making healthy choices of foods to eat.
Pam: I am very envious of you and your P90X success I miss that program. Keep up the great job!
I will report more tomorrow!0 -
So I made some adjustments, I have my mom who had dementia living with me full time now, and she has been home all day. I feel bad because she would like to be busy but can't. Anyway instead of doing a video workout we went for a nice walk almost 4 miles and at a very nice pace.. and she hung right in there with me. So that was good.
Until tomorrow....0
