I just turned 30 and I've finally decided to change my life and become healthier. I have about 80 Ibs. to lose and my problem is going to be staying focused long term. I just started taking Juice Plus to help me build my immune system back up and now I'm trying to change my eating habits. I have 4 children that are girls and want them to grow up and have a healthy body image of themselves because they know how to eat healthy. I'm going to rely on my faith to get me through the tough days, but I really want this. I would love to walk into a regular store and find something that will fit me. I'm 5'10" tall, so it's challenging to find clothes that are large ad long enough to fit.

Anyways, I'm here trying to encourage others and looking for inspiration!

I feel the very same way. I want to change my eating habits but I've been finding the more I read the labels the food's I thought were healthy really aren't. I am also 5'10" and understand the great desire to "fit" nice clothes.

Here's to the long term commitment :)

Hi there! Congrats on wanting to make lifestyle changes in order to lose weight. I've been trying to eat healthier foods for a little while now, but have only been on MFP for about a month. I still have a long way to go. Yes, it is hard , but anything worth it usually is. Just take it one step at a time. There are no rules saying you have to do a complete 180 overnight. Keep reading labels, and if you like cooking, cook mostly from scratch with the best stuff you can afford. That's what I'm trying to do, anyway. There are lots of helpful people here on the site. Feel free to add me if you wish. Makes it easier when you have friends going through all this with you.

It's hardest in the beginning. Just keep at it and as you develop new healthier habits it will get easier and easier. To help stay focused on the long term I tell myself this, "Discipline is deciding between what you want most and what you want right now."

Just started a couple of days back. I hope we all here are on the same boat. This boat is stronger than Titanic for sure ;-)
