That cannot be normal?

So I have been doing the Butt Bible for 4 weeks and I have gained 5 pounds. But I have lost a lot of inches (about 10) and now my thighs and back are really muscular. However, my stomach seems bigger but when I press on my belly it is pretty darn solid. A lot less squishy than before. But it feels so much bigger around. It is hard to explain. It feels like I am getting puffy with muscles and in need of deflating LOL. I really don't know how to describe it.

Does anyone understand what I am talking about or have experienced it?

Thanks for trying to understand my terrible description.

Sounds like you've built up muscle - well done for the 10 inches tho - that's fab!

Go to a massage therapist or chiropractor and ask to have your Psoas Major muscle released. It's your main hip muscle and it can tilt your pelvis causing your belly to appear bigger than it really is. Hip opening yoga poses help too.

It is often better to measure your weight loss by inches lost instead of pounds lost because some of the weight you 'gain' is muscle and muscle weighs more than fat (sorry, you probably already knew that).

I haven't really experienced the 'puffiness' feeling that your experiencing though. Sorry! I was probably of very little help :indifferent:

Well...you didn't gain five pounds of muscle. It's most likely water weight that you've gained. The loss of inches could be fat loss that allows you to feel the muscle you already had underneath.

Ok I mean this in the nicest possible way I promise: you need to diet to drop the layer of fat over your muscles you are building up. Your gaining muscles but because you still have a layer of fat on to it makes it look round yet feel hard. Does this make sense? Adjust your diet and I'm sure it will not only reflect on the scale but will be visible as well :) and congrats!
