I'm half way through the first one....It is very, um, different. I'm not sure if I care for it.

definitely keep reading - i enjoyed the 2nd and 3rd a lot more than the first!

I enjoy it cause its fun. But it does not keep my interest. That being said I like different kinds of books. I like great story lines and things outside the box. Its a sweet story. Just gets boring after a while, but it can get the mind on certain things, thats a plus.

I totally agree with u. I love Christian and book 2 the most.. I was really hard to finish book 3 but I loved the ending.

After book one it became predictable and tiring. Im 1/2 way through book 3 and just have slighty given up. Lol.

The 1st one was OK. Loved the 2nd one bc there was an actual story behind it. Im suffering through the last 1. Im just not into it anymore. She is a broken record! However I do LOVE Christian!!!

Something isn't adding up here... I'm seeing a lot of "I couldn't put it down! It took me a week to read all three!" around the internet. Are 50 Shades Fans all really slow readers or what? It shouldn't take an adult multiple days to read a relatively short book they enjoy, right? What am I missing? :/

Well ... a lot of adults have full time jobs and kids to come home to. So by the time you bathe said kids, bedtime routine, etc... exercise.. there is 20 minutes left before my head hits the pillow. 20 minutes a night..maybe 45 on a good night...ya, a week sounds right!
Ah yes, kids. That'll do it. Didn't think of that. I don't have kids and usually only work around 42-50 hours a week (depending whether or not I work the Sunday) so I have loads of time for reading if I'm into a book lol I read my 8-book Southern Vampire Mysteries box set in under a week because I was reading for over an hour every night before bed and also in the bath lol
    Southern Vampire Mysteries LOVE!!! <3
  • Perfectly put! I don't know any Doms like Christian (Thank God!). My Dad bought the books for his wife though and is loving the effects it's having, because now 'he can slap her and she doesn't ring the police'
  • I really need to read these so I can judge for myself, but I've heard the writing is terrible and that it doesn't represent true BDSM at all. I would believe that. But I need to read them so that if I'm going to complain, it can be because I actually read the book. I tend to like more advanced writing so I have a feeling I'm going to hate them.

all three, because I hate not being able to discuss the most trendy items out there. However, don't see myself discussing that! A little too intimate of a book!

I was joking with a friend and said I prefer the romance novels with flowers and heroes, the books are too much like my regular life ;) I was kidding but she just about flipped out! Chains and whips baby! JK

How many have read this book?

just about half way thru book 1, I'm loving it! Don't know if anyone remembers Mills and Boon books, lots of 'heaving breasts' well I think this is written the same way, gently and with some soft porn.......my hubby had better watch out too ha ha:heart:

Same here. Love the 2nd book. I don't care if people say junk about the books - I like them.

I read Bared to You and actually prefer it a little. The female lead is older and has dealt with real life and the sex scenes are hotter!

I read part one and two ... refuse to read part three lol . NO ONE get offended please but the book was dreadful ... the first one was good then part two? UGH ? Its so repetitive you often stop and wounder what the heck was the editor thinking! Also can we say border line abuse ? The girl is an idiot . Then again rich and attractive sure we will give into that. I give it 2 stars and only because the sex scenes where OK. However I will say it was addicting I would like to know what happens but at the same time I don't want to sit through "frown", " biting her lip", a hundred million times on one page.

Maybe it was just the writing I could not get over.
  • At first they seemed a little corny to me, too, but given the genre of the novel I really don't think it's realistic to expect more. I guess I liked the whole "inner goddess" dialog...I guess that appeals to the kid in my because I can totally relate to that. Personally I prefer the third book because that's when they both FINALLY start getting over all of their issues.

Like I said, I enjoyed them for some light entertainment, but if you are expecting an award winning book you are in the wrong genre. :)

I have read it twice and loved it both times. I plan to re-read this winter when it's freezing cold outside and I need something to warm me up! lol
