Anyone low-carb?!

Was just wondering if any of you try to stay away from carbs? What type of results do you see by doing this? I want to increase my protein and lower my carbs but just wanted some feedback first. Thanks!

I did for a while, started losing weight again. Went though 'carb flu.'
Once I was adapted, I stopped having afternoon crashes, stopped getting jittery if I hadn't eaten in a while and generally found it pretty easy to only eat when I wanted to.
(downside, bread is f****ng delicious, and I slipped and haven't managed to gain traction again yet.)0 -
My carbs come mostly from leafy greens and some starchy veg.
Carbs are OK, I just don't want to rely on them for energy, my fat stores will do that.
I've been on a max of 50g a day for months and feel great.
I'm still dropping fat and energy is good.
The main advantage for me (versus a more 'balanced' plan) has been to even out my blood sugar and therefore my appetite. I just don't crave food anymore, especially sweet or processed food.
You talk of upping protein and lowering carbs, a well-formulated low carb plan is actually high in fat (by calories) and moderate in protein.
Too much protein will slow you and doesn't do the digestive process any good (constipation, basically).
I know the concept of eating fat to lose fat seems counter-intuitive but in my experience it is key.
There is a low carb group on here, check in and say hello if you want more advice

I low carb to cut (sub 100g a day at 240lb body weight).
My end result was:

I haven't had any bread for months, I do know what you mean about it, the texture and smell of a freshly baked loaf is a thing to behold.
I am close to maintenance and will probably add some back in for variety but I'll have to be wary, no way am I ever going back to a 'food pyramid' nutrition plan.0 -

I could but he'd probably beat me into a pulp

For the most part, just changing my overall diet has put me at a lower carb range, average 150g. Sometimes I eat more, especially if I indulge in some treats, sometimes when I eat what I plan, its lower. It may be a matter of just adding more vegetables in place of other stuff. If you gradually lower your carbs instead of eliminating them all at once, the "carb flu" affect is a lot less noticable.0

Thanks for all the responses! I think for the most part I'm going to avoid carbs like breads, pasta, cereals (they also make me tired and drag through the day) but include some from fruits and veggies.0
