Bikram Yoga

Hi All,

I've been running for about 4 years now but have recently been plagued with exhaustion and just nagging little pains that have kept me out of my running shoes since around August after I completed a Tri. I am trying to restart a regular exercise routine and am trying different things. This is when I saw a groupon for Bikram Yoga. I've done yoga a few years and hot yoga but never officially Bikram style. Anyone have any experience with Bikram?

Thanks

it's 90 minutes...that's too long for me. by the time you get there, get home, etc...that's 2 hours.

i do like it though, guess it depends on if you have that kind of time to devote.
  • I just started Bikram Yoga this week and went to my third class last night. I find it very interesting and very challenging. I have never been a fan of yoga before, but I find this practice very different than traditional yoga - no downward dog here!!. I have learned this week that my body much prefers the morning classes I did this past weekend to the evening class I did last night. Some advice from a newbie - wear as little as possible and don't be self conscious about it - all shapes and sizes in class, bring a mat and two large towels - one to put on the mat and one to wipe the buckets of sweat, bring clothes to change into after class - warm clothes - you will be freezing, and put a large water bottle in the freezer so it freezes solid and slowly melts during class. Good luck and namaste.
