just put the shoes on!

I've been pretty consistent in my exercising, and I've been doing some sort of 'intentional' exercising just about every day. Sure there are days when I don't feel like it - I'm tired, I had a long day, I don't feel like doing 'that', etc, etc, etc. But I've found that if I "just put the shoes on" and start SOMEthing, ANYthing, then I'm fine and I can get into it. It might be going to the gym, it may be going for a walk, it may be doing something on my Wii; as long as it's something.

So that's become sort of my mantra for exercising - JUST PUT THE SHOES ON.

    Agreed.

(Well, at least until the barefoot/minimalist shoes people get here...then it will be absolute pandemonium.)

I talk to myself about it, tell myself that I am the ONLY one who can do this for me. That rain, hail or shine nobody is going running for me, nobody is doing Zumba for me.... only me.

I say I'm not going for a run today, and at 8am as it is now here I'm not..... by 12pm I'm going to be dressed in my running gear or my Zumba stuff & I'll do what needs to be done. All without me even knowing I've gotten ready.

I spend 5 hours talking myself into going... only cause my back takes that long to 'wake up' (back injury) and allows me to move like I should. I then spend the next hour working my guts out running 10- 12km or doing my other workouts with hand & leg weights or do some resistance band training. No sluch effort either... I'll do it all 2 times if I feel like I didn't work out hard enough,

That's excellent! I love mantras that get you up and at 'em or get you through something. My spin instructor yells stuff all the time that I constantly hear in my head on long bike rides - use both legs, spin small circles, etc. One I like for running is "left, right, repeat".

I like yours, I will have to remember that when I am tired and sitting on my couch or don't feel like heading to the gym at lunch, thanks! :)
