Nervous Newbie

Gosh, I've never done anything like this before. I was reading thru some of the older FitLive posted from other groups, and it's quite intimidating. I'm 40 something, overweight and out of shape. I really need the support of this group to get thru it. My pal at the gym is excited about me starting this program. She says weight training will really help me reshape by body. Way faster than doing just cardio classes. I look forward to getting to know you all thru the journey!

I have done a weight lifting program before with a trainer and even I'm nervous. Don't worry though, we're all here for the same reason, and we'll all help one another out ;)

    YOU GOT THIS!!!

You can do it! Once you get the hang of the movements, how long it takes you, etc., it'll flow and feel much less intimidating. :)
  • We are all here to help each other! I am nervous to start a program for as along as three months. I have started programs and never finished them. This year, I am determined to finish this program. The only thing that will help is the support of others and determination from myself. We are all here for each other. If there is something that is discouraging us, or is a challenge, we should all post it so we can help each other work thru it. I know it's a difficult program, but we can all do it as long as we help each other!
  • I've tried starting this program a few times, working away in remote locations and weird hours without a gym is hard but I always seem to find a way to get it done. What I do find, is that it's hard to keep up with it when I'm home and close to the gym so I need to work on that! But no matter how long between attempts, I always go back to this program.

We'll all do awesome! Especially if we keep ourselves accountable by posting when we have completed our workouts! After this week I'm going to start on Monday but with the new year I'm starting on Tues!

3 months is the big picture but we'll get through 1 day at a time!

Also, when I have a question about a certain lift, I usually youtube the lift to make sure I'll do it right!
  • I've never done a program like this either! i've always just winged it! so this will be a first for both of us! im so excited to start!! :)
