Hey
My name is Amber and I am 21 years old and I am a student. I am anticipated to graduate in May 2014 but there is one thing that is keeping me from feeling confident when I walk across the stage. My Weight. During high school, I was picked on for being overwieght and I would go home and cry and cover my sadness with food. My highest weight was 260lbs. When during my first 2 years of college, I lost 30 lbs. But when I transferred back home to attend a college nearby, I gained 20 lbs back. Now its time for me to lose this weight and keep it off. For the new year I have decided to lose 30 lbs by march to attend a family member's wedding but why stop there when I can keep going and look my absolute best. I previously weighed 250lbs and since I have started this weight loss journey for the new year, I have lost 3 lbs and I need all the support I can to make this reality come true. So feel free to reply back with some ENCOURAGING feedback. I don't need any negativity that will bring me down.

You can do this. Just make a commitment to log all your food daily. I had no plan on losing weight when I first signed up. I needed to lose weight, but didn't know if I was ready. Friend joined, he had lost 70 lbs on his own and was stuck on last 20 so I joined to support him. I have been losing weight! Granted not a ton and its been very slow, but I am noticing a difference in the way I feel.
I just made a commitment to logging my food, got some wonderful friends here and its been so easy! Logging my food is good cuz it makes me think, I have to put this food in diary, do I really want this? And I can look back on past posts and see. I could have eaten this instead of that which wasn't very healthy, etc. etc.
Then bout a month ago I started exercising. Its hard as I am old and fat and very sedentary, but I am moving because I want to be stronger. I want to be able to garden without having to quit after 15 min, or walk my year old dog who is handful. I can become stronger, just a little bit each day.
So since Sept I have lost 21 lbs. Ok, not alot, but its going in the right direction! I am wearing clothes I couldn't wear before and my knees feel better.
Since you are so very young and going to school am sure you are very active. I remember walking miles when i was going to college (and when I worked too, used to window shop every lunch).
Just log your food. Simple commitment that can lead to lots of other positive choices.
You are worth it.
