My progression pictures

I hate before pictures but people always need to see them. Since this is the Venus Index Group I'm posting these here. Again, it can be done with any workout. I honestly support any weight lifting workout. Just do it! Personally I have scientific evidence that lifting weights keeps you younger as my DXA scan shows my 50+ year old bones are like that of a super athletic 30 year old. It just happens that I found that the Venus Index workouts are what works well for me and it's hard for me to switch to something else (why fix was isn't broken?). Someday someone might show me enough results in another program, or someday I might be able to afford a coach for the first time in my life (that is my dream, to someday have a good coach).
This first before/after I'm probably at 160 lbs (the peak of my obesity was over 170 lbs - I have a picture of 170+ on my profile in the black and white dress).
I have a feeling these pictures might be cut off on the right side so I might need to post them on my blog. If so I'll put the link to my blog in a comment below.
These next pictures are from when I started at VI until March of last year through the various phases of VI phase 1 and phase 2 workouts. I'm in the process of getting ready for a new set of pictures this year. I figure I probably need to do at least one photo shoot a year to show that I am really maintaining (and just for fun - LOL if you can call a photo shoot fun! well the results are fun anyway But I also have some business events I need to be ready for later this year.
Actually I did a few of the VI circuits but mainly I only do them on occasion. I find that for lighter days I usually prefer the phase 2 intermittent supersets and X-sets.
This year I went through phase 3 once. And now I'm doing a combination of phase 2 and phase 3, mostly phase 2, and probably mostly intermittent supersets and X-sets with a few phase 2 Fibonacci pyramids and Progressive Venus pyramids.
I'm also training for a half marathon event at the end of march so I have a more aggressive running schedule which means I'll do a few less pyramids until the half marathon is complete. Since I'm giving a fitness chat at the marathon I want to look good as well as be able to run a decent pace (not a winning pace, just a good pace). I'm hoping the arthritis in my hips will cooperate .
Anyway here's the progression as I went through the various VI workouts (along with a calorie deficit of course). The VI calorie chart helped me find an appropriate deficit and Eat Stop Eat and Anything Goes Diet helped me manage my calorie deficit in a variety of ways that helped me keep my sanity.
Again, if the picture is lopped off on the right side I will post them in my MFP blog....

Okay, in the process of putting them in my blog now... the last picture totally cuts off this year. If anyone knows how to fix this problem of the pictures getting cut off in forum posts please comment to let me know how to fix this.0

We have talked enough for you to know that your story has also inspired me to try the workout. I have also took before VI pic. Cant wait to share my after Phase I pic. I hope they look as good as yours someday. As you know, today I broke down and cried, right in the gym in the middle of my workout. You were right, hormones, girlie thing, pushing myself way past my comfort zone, all these things combined to caused me to break down. I am not like that, I usually walk around pretty hardass at the gym, so my trainer just stood there in shock to see me cry. Not sure that was normal, you re-assured me that it is, thank you. VI gives me the focused workout you would get with a trainer. Combining the two hopefully will push me to the next level. Having wonderful women like you to talk to and inspire me, is such an incredible gift. Thank you for your continued support, inspiration, and friendship.0

Cynthia you are going to do AWESOME. This is your year. Well last year was your year too, but this year will be IT. It's so hard being a girl sometimes. I'm going through the big M right now and it sucks, it's like a constant roller coaster and I never know what is next.0

I'm just noticing that you started Phase 2 in early Sept. and finished late Oct. It's a 12 week program - how did you do that? I'm figuring you did workouts every day at some point...just wondering what your strategy was...
Thanks. ~Marie0
