I swear, primark is famous for being at least one size small in everything they sell,
Yet, the other day, i brought a shirt in a size 16 from there.
Then i tried on a size 22 hoodie in tesco, and it was mega tight!
My bottom half is bigger than my top, and yet tesco size 20 jeans are too big.
WHAT SIZE AM I?
It's just proper annoying, and i love shopping online, how do i know what size to buy?
Just saying.

It's all about where they are actually produced, I wish it was uniform among all stores too though! I want to fit in the same size no matter what store I walk into or where I purchase online.0

Yep. I am a 12 or 14. Crazyness!0

I'm with you, it can be really frustrating. There used to be this great website called myshape.com where you plugged in your measurements and it would only show you clothes that would fit you according to your measurements, not the size on the tag. Sadly, they somehow went out of business even though they were always selling out of everything they had (I'm wearing a shirt I bought on there now, actually).0

Primark are the worst!! In one item I am a ten another item 14, it makes no sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Makes me sad0 -
i am a 12/14, but in juniors i am an 18~ the last dress that i bought was a size 16. that was before i had a breast reduction though, so i'm interested to see what size dress that i would be now. i just may have to try on that same dress to see. my old boobies barely fit into the dress. it was so frustrating when putting it on for a wedding in sept. so, with that said, i believe that all clothes vary from store to store and the company that makes them.0

Me! I just bought a pair of size 1 jeans the other day. Seriously? Size 1? Not with these thighs! I'm normally anywhere from a 2-3-4. I even have a 7 that still fits.0

yup, it's a royal pain. Most jeans I'm a size 2/3 but some I am a size 4/5. I can't shop at Limited because their smallest size falls off of me...WTH is that all about. I am not smaller than a 00. It's all vanity sizing. Victoria's Secret stuff, sometimes I'm an XS and other times a S.
They make you think you are smaller than you really are so you will buy the clothing because you are so excited about the size...LOL
My tops are mostly the same size depending on the cut it may vary.0 -
Not only you that find this happens in different stores. There is no way I can suggest an item of clothing to my husband as a present for me.0

I hate it too, especially with pants. Skirts and tops are usually easy for me to guess the size even before trying them on, but pants are impossible to tell. No two pairs of the "same" size fit the same. And dance wear sizing makes me freak out completely, since most of the brand´s sizing is ridiculously small, making me feel like a whale, so I always get rid of the tag as quicky as possible.
Also the European/UK/US etc. different sizes are very confusing to me.0 -
Its soo annoying having to go in the changing room with 3 different sizes.0

I hate this!! And not even different stores, but just different brands are different. For crying out loud why is it so hard to make a size that size and keep it that size?0

I'm anything from a 20 to a 26, depending on the store and brand.
I have a pair of size 20 jeans from Lane Bryant that I wore in 2001, when I weighed 220 pounds. Now I weigh 313 pounds, and I'm wearing size 20s from Lane Bryant. Talk about crazy vanity sizing. :-P
That's why I never pay attention to the, "What size/weight are you?" threads. Sizes are completely irrelevant because they vary so much. If someone tells me they were able to go to Cedar Point at a size 18, it means nothing to me. I could be an 18 at 190 pounds, 240 pounds, or 275 pounds, depending on the brand.0 -
That is one of the things that I loathe about shopping for clothes. I wish that sizes were the same across all brands so there was no guesswork. I have found that the more expensive a brand or store is, the smaller the size that fits me. It's a racquet!!0

Shirts arent so bad for me since im petite usually a M will do... pants on the other hand its a free for all. I feel bad for the people at fitting rooms when I go to get a pair of jeans lol! I usually try on 8 pairs and buy 10
