Is anyone here a fan of JR Ward, Kresley, Cole, Jeanine Frost, Karen Marie Moning or Anya Best? I read a lot of books with vampires, shapeshifters and the like. I was wondering if anyone else liked that genre.

Yay! I LOVE the Black Dagger Brotherhood and, Bones and Cat are two of the best couples I've read in paranormal fiction.

Check out Moning "Dreamfever" series. It's wonderful. Not as heavy on the romance, but the paranormal elements are very strong.

I loved the Dreamfever series. I read a lot of paranormal fiction too. I just really like this genre. Right now I am reading a series, but can't remember the name of it or the author (helpful I know). I know the first book was called "Chosen" or "The Chosen" and the second is something like "Hunted" It is actually pretty good so far.

I've read the first book in the Midnight Breed series. It reminded me a lot of the BDB by JR Ward which is not a bad thing.

I don't know if it's considered paranormal but I also like Lora Leigh's Breed series. The books are a hit or miss. She hits it out of the park with some. With others, it's as if she phones it in.

I'm reading the Anita Blake Series, Laurell K Hamilton. It's a porny read, but if you look past the sex it's got an amazing plot.

I love these too - tend to stick to teen reads though, find them easier to get thru! Love I am number four (aliens not strictly paranormal) and Jennifer Lynn Barnes' books

Keri Arthur is a good one too... Werewolves and vampires with action and romance thrown in. The Riley Jensen series was pretty good. I haven't tried any of her others yet.

I love Laurell K Hamilton, Kim Harrison, Kelley Armstrong and many more.
  • I like Kelley Armstrong, Jeaniene Frost, Keri Arthur, Karen Marie Moning, Lilith Saintcrow, Richelle Mead, Charleine Harris' earlier Sookie books & the The Harper Connelly Mysteries and most of all Karen Chance.

I can't wait for the next Cassie Palmer series book (Karen Chance) and Iced (Karen Marie Moning) to come out.

I've read so many that it is a little hard to find anything else I like as I won't venture near J R Ward or Laurell K Hamilton again so feel a little stuck waiting for the same authors to hurry up and write.

I've read all of Anita Harris series but it almost seems like it's time to wrap it up. You can definitely tell when she was married, when she got divorced and when she found her new love by the storylines in the series. Laurell K, Hamilton had a fairy series that kinda feel to the wayside, believe her name was Merry. I enjoyed that series as well and would love to read more of that.

Read all fo the Sookie books too and the last one seemed really week. I think she's got 2 more to write to meet her contract obligations.

I found an awesome writer Nicky Charles, writes about werewolves and pack life. She only writes ebooks and they are all free. Google her and you should be able to access them. Only "payment" she wants is for readers to recommend her books to others and if you can afford to to donate to an animal charity.

I'm actually reading and interesting series by Dean Koontz now. Odd Thomas about a kid who is almost like a ghost whisperer. Not a ton of romance but I just love this kid. I recommend it.

Why hasn't anyone mentioned Kresley Cole's series "Immortals After Dark", there are something like 8-10 books I believe. Very good series. Sexy, funny, action packed, great characters throughout the series. I highly recommend her books.

Kelly Gay's books are awesome as well.
  • I am reading the Human Vampire Series by CD Hussey. Its a different twist on a Vampire novel but they have been very good. I am on the third book in the series and have been pleasantly surprised. These tend to be on the erotic side but the stories are interesting.
