I actually eat bagel thins on occassion. Not all the time mind you but with a little hummus spread on a toasted bagel thin, it's a nice snack sometimes. You can always go for the whole grain or multi grain options if you're worried about the bad carbs.

Sarah Lee has some 100% whole wheat mini bagels that are soft and very good. They are a good snack with natural peanut butter, though a little high in calories for me.

Mini bagels are fine:wink: I am also not sure as to why you miss bread:huh: .
Plan your foods , cut down on portions sizee and frequency of some foods.

Thomas Bagels just put out "Bagel Thins." They're about 1/2 in thick pre-sliced bagels (they come in several flavors but I've only tried the plain), they're only 110 calories apiece, and taste really good for grocery store bagels.
Toast 'em and top with a little whipped cream cheese, and you have a decent bagel fix for approx 200 calories.

Some bagels in the grocery store are really ok to eat while dieting. Like peppridge farm whole grain and 100% whole wheat bagels, they are 250 calories. You can have that with some reduced fat cream cheese and be satisfied. They contain fiber too, so its not empty calories. Pepperidge Farm also makes mini bagels, if you are trying to cut back on the carbs. I would go with mini bagel (100 cal) and a greek yogurt, simply because I need the protein to feel satisfied. But there are definitely options out there for bagel lovers!

I love Bagels as well, especially with cream cheese. I've found that a great low cal alternative to cream cheese is Neufchatel cheese. It has 1/3 less fat and about 30 cals less then regular cream cheese and you're allowed a whole ounce versus 1/2 an ounce for regular cream cheese and still taste the same to me. Hope that helps out.

I'm addicted to the "Everything" Thomas' Bagel Thins. Only 100 cals per "bagel". Put a little margarine on it and have with hard boiled eggs and I feel like I have had some carbs without overindulging on calories. I like the Everything ones as they are not too strong on taste, but give some taste.

Ditto on the Sandwich Thins- Pepperidge Farm, Arnold, etc. Only 100 cals and better than 2 slices of bread for lunch!
