Easter Candy?

Easter is coming in less than a month. Can you resist the jellybeans, chocolate bunnies, and peeps? I won't be buying any candy for myself but I know my mother will be getting some, moderation is the key. No more candy binges for me.

I love Gimbal's gourmet jelly beans, even more than jelly belly. If i buy them, I know that unless my kids find them, I'm going to eat the whole bag in a couple of days.

I'm having a real hard time when I go to the store and see the peeps. They bring back fond memories of close friends and are one of my favorite candies.

I think I have to avoid completely this year. I have fond memories of eating entire bags full of the Easter malted milk balls with the crunchy colored shells, and I don't think I've reached the point where I could stop after one serving yet. That's okay - a goal to set for next year. :)

I've had pretty good luck/success with turning down candy, sweet snacks, cookies, etc. lately.. when I get on my 'kick', it's easier to do. I would have never hesitated in the past and would have eaten every one of these things NO PROBLEM, but I've made important lifestyle changes. I won't have a problem having candy around for the kids because I see each 'no, thank you' I say as a small victory- and I love the feeling I get and the smile on my face as I realize that the changes I've made in my life are real. :)

I wish you all luck with the temptations that you will find in front of you through this time of year.. remember, if you DO have some of the goodies, it's all about moderation. Just make the conscious decision whether or not you're going to allow yourself a treat here and there, and don't sit down with a bag of candy/box of Peeps. :)

Our children are all too old for that stuff so I no longer buy it. THANK GOODNESS!!! I completely ignored all the Easter junk when I went shopping yesterday.

I'm a vegetarian so I can't eat peeps, I don't like jelly beans, and I'm not a huge fan of choccolate...unless it's white chocolate! If my mom gets me one of those white chocolate bunnies it's game on. I'm eating that white chocolate bunny. I don't care if I have to use all of my calories for the day on it, I'm eating it.
