Bread crusts

Ok I just wanted to know about something I noticed. So I hate bread crust. I just do. So I cut it off. I decided to cut off the crust of a slice very close to the crust and weigh it. Turns out, half the weight in in the crust in every slice.
Are half the calories in the crust as well or would it be balanced differently? Just wondering.

I eat kingsmill 50/50 crusts away bread now and again (UK) basically just white or white and wholemeal bread without crusts. They are around 47 cals a slice. full normal slice is around 100 so would say yeah around half the calories0

Just trim the calories off the way you do the bread crust. So if it's 120 calories for the slice of bread the take off the edges. Removed the 1 and the 0 on the outside. Ta da! It's only 2 calories without the crust.0 -
You must have the straightest hair in the world!0

Why would I have straight hair? Also the 50/50 thing is interesting.0

My grandmother always told me to eat my crust because it will give you curly hair.
Just an old wive's tale but 40 years later I can still hear her saying it.0 -
Trillby, we should go halfies on a loaf of bread. You can have the crusts and I will eat the centers.
And I was really confused about the hair thing. Pretty sure they could have threatened me with anything as a child and I wouldn't have eaten them. Haha.0 -
I love getting a very coarse fresh baked olive bread and just dipping the crusts in excellent extra virgin first cold pressed olive oil and eating it-yummy yummy yum yum!!!!0

Actually, this would be the exception for me. I love crunchy crusts. But not the really dense, soft ones you get on standard loaves.0 -
The crust isn't anything special, it's all part of the same recipe, so if you weigh it and it's half the weight of a slice of bread, then technically you would log half of the bread, since that's really what you're eating. I really like iWaffles theory, though. I eat the crust and I have wavy hair.0
