Winter diets

I am struggling with my eating pattern now with it being cold. All I want to do is drink coffee and eat rusks or anything else...does anyone have some recipe ideas for me? Salads and fruit salad are impossible for me in the winter. Judy

Home made soups, vegetable, lentil, minestrone are great, nutritious and can be quite low cal. Casseroles, chilli, bolognese are all easy to make and can be eaten with pasta, rice, potatoes, cous cous etc. jacket potato with any amount of fillings. A good start for you idea wise i hope?

I have this problem too, I do not feel like munching on veggie sticks and eating salad in the winter so I look up healthy, reduced fat versions of my favourite foods, like lasagna, eggplant parmesan, mac n cheese, stuffed chicken breast etc and then stuff them all with as many vegetables as I can.

I also found this website that another member posted about on MFP and its been my go to recipe site ever since!

It's winter for me now too, and at first I was this way as well!

Then I discoreverd how TASTY and COMFORTING a big bowl of homemade soup was. Lentil, veggies, barley, minestrone, broccoli, capsicum etc. so good! Also hearty cassolroles on mash, rice etc. a small serve of hot pasta + salad!

Embrace things like hot tea, warm oatmeal, low cal hot chocolate, and keep your fruit out of the fridge!

Also, nothing wrong with coffee, just opt for skim and no sugar :)

Also you can adjust things. For example, I still have a protein shake everyday. In summer, this means cold cold milk/water + frozen fruit and TONS of ice. In winter it's tap water or even slightly cool tea, not frozen fruit (like bananas) and no ice. I adjust it to my needs :)
