I am looking to hear from women that are about 5ft 6in, SW 200 and reached thier goal weight. I would like to hear how you reached it, what you ate, and how long it took.
I am a month away from turning 29 years old. My husband and I are trying to have a baby. We started about 12 months ago (weight 165) with no luck. With every month that went by and i was not pregnant i would stress eat. In November my sister announced that she was pregnant again and just gave birth a few days ago to a very happy healthy adorable baby girl! As happy and excited i was for her and the new baby it was also killing me. Which did not help with stress eating! Now i know i am at an unhealthy weight of 199. The doctor told me that we can keep trying but i should lose some weight. But with my stress level so high and my internal clock ticking i am really struggling. I really need motivation. I read the success stories and it has helped but i would really like to hear from someone around my height and weight.
Right now i would like to lose about 30lbs then hopefully after having a baby reaching a goal weight of 130...

I'm 5'7, but i started at 206. this was in feb 2012. i was down to 155 by november 2012. i did a running program 3x a week, walked my dog, counted calories per MFP suggestions, and gave myself monthly rewards for hitting targets.
the rewards were essential to my progress. i would have eaten a lot more cookies if i didn't have pretty workout clothes, or new shoes, dangling over my head.0 -
I am 5'6" and my starting weight was also 200. My goal weight is 150, although I would really like to hit about 145 in the end. Right now, I weigh 175.6 lbs. I think 145 is a healthy weight for me, as that is what I used to weigh before I gained 50+ lbs. My weight loss has been really slow. I'm still trying to get it right..... at least I haven't put it back on. lol
Anyway, good luck to you - I know you can do this!0 -
7 years ago when my Dad died I hit a high of 196, I successfully took off about 25 pounds and kept it off. A year plus ago I decided that I needed to get down to a healthy weight that was actually in the norm on one of those 'what you should weigh charts'. I reached that in January and now am trying to bring that down even lower, to where I feel good and I feel healthy too.
It really takes 2 things:
1. Get off your behind an move at least 5 days a week.
2. Cut down on what you eat.
Best of luck to you.0 -
Hi! I'm 5 '6, 33 years old, sw 198, cw 154. I'm happy with my current weight, my doc keeps pushing for me to get to 143 or something. Meh! :ohwell:
It took me a year to get to my current weigh by keeping my calorie intake at 1200 and working out at least 3 times a week. I started doing the Zumba game on the Wii, I would also go for walks/runs with my hubby for 30 to 45 minutes. Right now I do the Zumba core game on the Wii and upped my calories to 1700. I honestly want to tone up a bit but I'm happy with the curves I got right now.
It takes work and you may slip up from time to time but the important thing is to not give up.0 -

I aim to work out 4-5 days a week. If i miss a day i try to do more on my next workout day. I have been making better choices with my food however sometimes life just gets in the way! I was told that i should be eating around 1900 calories and i noticed most of you said lower. I think 1200 is too low but maybe what i am eating is too high? I have been really into MFP for the past 40 days but i only lost 1lb and 1inch. I kinda feel like i doing something wrong...0

Hi there! I am 5'6" and my SW was 210lbs roughly 12 months ago. I now weigh 147lbs and am aiming for 140lbs.
I started at a UK size 20 (US16) with a 40" waist, I am now a UK12 (US8) with a 30" waist.
I eat around 1500 calories a day, and try to make sure what I eat is healthy (lots of fruit and veg, wholemeal bread and pasta, not too much fat).
I aim to do at least 30 mins of exercise, 5 days a week. Exercise varies between swimming, cycling, power walking, yoga and home workout DVDs. I also walk to work and back every day, which is around 2 miles.
I lost the weight fairly slowly, around 1lb a week, but I'm hoping that means it has become enough of a lifestyle change to keep it off long term.0 -
Thanks to everyone that replied to my posting. It has helped to hear that my goals are achievable!! I hope to have some great results with MFP!!0
