Be smart. Figure out your TDEE as well, and then eat between your TDEE and your BMR. Question: is that really your BMR, or did you add exercise regimen into the MFP calculation? If you added exercise as well, then that's actually your TDEE, not your BMR.

MyFitnessPal pretty much puts *everyone* on the 1200 calorie diet, but if your BMR is 1629, don't eat less than that.

Go here and start reading. It will shed a lot of light on the subject and help you figure out what your TDEE and BMR actually are:

Have you read the "In Place of a Road Map" post? The short version is "Eat your BMR and eat back a good portion or most of your exercise calories."

MFP gave you a number based upon the number of pounds you want to lose each week...... that doesn't mean that, that number of pounds is appropriate.

Figure out where you are (below) and set a new goal per week in MFP. That new number should be higher than 1200 (too low for most). Remember MFP will want you to eat exercise calories back, that's really imporant especially as you get closer to goal. Too big a calorie deficit results in muscle loss.

75+ lbs to lose 2 lb range
Between 40 - 75 lbs to lose 1.5 lb range
Between 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lb range
Between 15-25 lbs to lose 1 -.50 lb range
Less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs range

holy crap just did my TDEE, and there is no way I could or would eat that amount of calories. Holy hannah!

I am currently 155, trying to loose that last 5lbs, I am 5'11". I work out 5 days a week typically. On workout days MFP has me around 1900, on non-workout days around 1500. This is MORE than adequate for me, I eat clean, no gluten and am full without any problems.

According to TDEE I should be over 2700, that won't happen.
