Slow and Steady

Not necessarily NEW to MFP- but a re-occurring member. Last year, with MFP and a LOT of stress I managed to lose 30 lbs in 8 weeks. Felt great about it at the time, but as my school year began again, and the stress of five jobs, college classes and rocky relationships with rommmates bore down on me, I found myself slipping.
Exactly one year later, and at the same weight I was at on this day, I can't help but feel like the changes I made were too drastic to be sustainable. Eating 1100 calories while walking 5 miles a day and dancing slimmed me down, but couldnt be made solid for six months, let alone a year.
This time I really am here to stay. I'm not far from my goal weight , and know that at a rate of 1lb a week, I can get there healthfully and sustainably. I refuse to set myself up with a routine I cannot continue, and hope that there are some other folks out there who are feeling the same way!
I'm 21 years old, live in a rural area, and just purchased my first house with my partner. We're getting married in a little over a year, and I would love to be the same weight (or the same size) as he is!
