New/returning to MFP

Hello friends,
I made an account on MFP a while ago but never really took advantage of it. I am really wanting to buckle down now as I have recently broken my foot (sad face) and want to avoid gaining weight.
A year ago a family member of mine became addicted to drugs and I unhealthily lost 25 pounds in 1 month. Sounds like a dream come true, but it was a sick nightmare. From 135 to 110.. very scary. Now that things have drastically changed I am happier and I can actually eat. Unfortunately I brought my ecstatic new happy self up to a whopping 140 pounds. On a 5'3 untoned girl that doesn't look good.
Sadly, I broke my foot. I have surgery on Tuesday. I am having a pin and a plate put in my foot. I don't know how that will affect me long term, but for now I am going to work on my diet. A couple weeks after the surgery I will attempt some upper body training.
For now though, I would really love to make some new friends and build a fun support group in this journey! : )

OH, you've had a tough time of it! Good for you in not using the foot as an excuse to not get back at it. Not sure how your diet is, but maybe start with modifying that while you are recovering? Then once you start lifting (great idea by the way), you will have to uptick your cals a bit. Welcome back to MFP.!0
