I am new to the website. I am a nurse who spends way too much time caring for others while not spending enough time to care for myself. (some may say this is an occupational hazzard!). I have slowly lost about 35 pounds so far over the past 2 years...and have hit a plateau for about 6 months where I lose and gain the same 5 pounds...I want to use the website to break my plateau and continue the journey to a weight under 200 lbs.

Good morning, Karen! I used it for the same thing. I also go to WW but hit a 9 wk plateau and tried everything I was told at WW but nothing broke it. This site and one week of working out with Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred and I broke the plateau. I highly recommend the Shred dvd -- it's just a 20 min WO but it will do the trick!

Thanks for the tip I will have to try it out. I have also come to the realization the weekends wreck the progress I have made for the week and that I need to focus on remaining healthy over the weekend as well.

Welcome! I have been on MFP for 3 months, starting my 4th. It's the best decision I have made in many years. I have lost weight with diets many times before, but it was never a lifestyle change. This time is different; it's a lifestyle change, not a diet. Good luck on your weight loss journey. Please feel free to add me as a friend; we can help motivate each other.

Hello and welcome! You will love it here. I have been on and off with WW for years, and am even a lifer there, but this site has done more for me in the past month than I ever got there with once a week meetings. This is daily motivation! We all struggle with the same thing and can truly understand what each other is going through. Congratulations on your weight loss so far and good luck continuing. Please feel free to add me as a friend and we can motivate and support each other along the way!
