I'm on my second day using MFP. It's been about a week and a half since I shifted my eating habits. I started with a 36 hour water fast and from there have been eating very small portions. I've cut red meat completely, and only I've only had chicken or pork twice.
I'm glad that I found MFP through the iPhone app store. I guess I wasn't aware of the problems of eating too few calories (starvation mode). Yesterday was the most I've eaten since I did my fast, and I only managed to get 900ish calories. So, it's nice to use this app to keep me right where I need to be.
I've got a long way to go to reach my goal, but I feel like I have the right tools to get me there.

Welcome. I have been on MFP for 3 months, starting my 4th. It's the best decision I have made in many years. I have lost weight with diets many times before, but it was never a lifestyle change. This time is different; it's a lifestyle change, not a diet. Good luck on your weight loss journey. Please feel free to add me as a friend; we can help motivate each other.0

I eat beef about once a week, and I never eat ground beef. I don't think beef is bad on it's own, but eating too much can be. I eat fish and chicken mostly, and I never eat fried anything. When using MFP, try to make sure you don't miss a meal. Try to stretch your calories into breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, and then a final snack. This ensures your metabolism stays burning throughout the entire day.0
