Hey all,

I'm looking for tip on how to add more protein into my diet. I always seem to be under my goal when it comes to protein. Any tips would be appreciated.

It really depends what you like to eat, but these are the protein staples of my diet (for lunches/dinners) - chicken breast, fish (usually salmon, either from a can or cooked fresh), steak, extra lean ground beef, eggs, greek yogurt (read the label though, the brand I buy is 0% fat with 18-20grams of protein).

When I find I am under, egg whites are one choice and the other is a protein drink.

I always try to have extra chicken breasts cooked and cut into approx. 1 oz slices in the freezer so that I can take out what I need quickly.

For every serving of carbs, have 1 1/2 servings of protien. If you can't do this then by mixed unsalted nuts and snack on them between meals.

you can always use powders or drinks, but natural is always best. For me, it's egg whites. I boile lots of eggs every day and eat the whites with my meals.

make it a point to eat a serving of protein at each meal and at least one of your snacks.

I aim to include protein in every meal and snack. The other posters are right: lean meat, yogurt, protein powder & egg whites are a brilliant way to add protein, and I use all of them, but I also like to choose my carbs so that they contribute to the overall protein. Seed bread, soy & linseed bread, quinoa, lentils, beans etc. all amp up the protein content of your day :)
  • Thank you all. Your help is much appreciated!!
