This is ridiculous. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. I wish with all these pics you ladies would post your lifting stats. I've only been lifting a few months and would like to see how heavy I can expect to go.0 -

I've only been lifting a few months, mine are as follows. But honestly, everyone is different when it comes to lifting. My lower body is way stronger than my upper.
Squats: 100lbs
Deadlifts: 130lbs
Barbell Rows: 60lbs
Bench Press: 50lbs
OHP: 25lbs (I hate this one... so hard to progress)1 -
Yes, thank you ladies for keeping the pics going!!!! You both look A-MA-ZING!!!!
I don't have any "after" pictures yet, but I do have a NSV. Yesterday, I went shopping for the first time in awhile and got TONS of compliments on my bum when I tried on some leggings! YAY WEIGHTED SQUATS!!!!1 -

I'm opposite. My upper is stronger than my lower:
Squat: 87 lbs
Deadlift: 105 lbs
Bench: 75 lbs
OHP: 57 lbs
Have you tried fractional plates? Best investment ever.1 -

As far as lifting stats I am a strange case because i work around 3 herniated discs...so sometimes I have to substitute things or do a medium weight more times, but i do what I can,
I started off very light to make sure i was doing things safely.
this year (5 reps)
squat: 115 lbs
deadlift: 155( i think)
bench:110( my favorite because it never bugs my back)
OHP:60
when i do not feel like i can squat or deadlift I leg press and can do 330 pounds or something, and it doesnt bother my back...and use the leg curl machine, and other accessory lifts.
i also use the assisted pullup machine because it is my dream to do a pullup some day.1 -

Sheesh how could I be here this long and not see this thread. YOU LADIES ARE AMAZING!!!
I woke up today feeling discouraged to all hell about my weight.. Just started back lifting after 2 weeks off with chest infection blah.. and its looking like I am not going to lose this week.
Which bums me out cause i gained last week (mango rum.. etc.. worth it but sheesh) Anyways.... You all give me hope. I am not too old. I am not too fat. and I am not going to give up.
Still a lot to learn about whats best for my body but wow.. you guys really rock it. Thanks for the encouragment.0 -
Here, I will contribute my pic, though I need to take a current one. The after was from this summer and it is a little over a year after the first. I have been taking my sweet time because I like to eat a lot of the food:

Remember folks hijacking/trolling only works if you respond. Liberal use of the ignore button is much better than arguing with silly people.

Crank you are one of my biggest inspirations and I want to thank you for that. You are awesome :flowerforyou:0 -
There were also some questions asked on how to get started lifting, but they may have gotten lost in the mess.
Many good starter programs that have plans include:
New Rules of Lifting for Women - book form
Starting Strength - book form
Stronglifts 5X5 - website: http://stronglifts.com/stronglifts-5x5-beginner-strength-training-program/
It is important to
1) start light
2) focus on form - aided by checking out videos online, videoing yourself and watch for comparison, read the books, take notes, etc
3) Aim to progress in weight - build up and follow the program you choose to go with
4) Give it some time - this is not a sprint, it's marathon
5) Eat - make sure you are not shorting yourself on your calories. You can still do this with a deficit, but too much of one will wear you out, just like with any program.
That's all I have at the moment, just off the top of my head.0 -
Back, not flexed. I can see some moooscles!!
