It's barely December 24 here (12:14 am) but wanted to post quick to jenmck5 - I had to disconnect & reconnect my Fitbit & MFP accounts to get mine to sync again. If you haven't already tried that, it worked as soon as I reconnected them.

I'm taking an unplanned rest day today, and possibly tomorrow. If I do anything tomorrow it will likely just be a walk (either outside if the weather cooperates or on the treadmill if it doesn't).

I don't ever do this. I'll skip a workout if I'm sick (and I have to be really sick), or if I'm hurt, but I don't just blow off workouts. But I've had a crap attitude the past couple days and think it's time for a mental rest day or two. I have all kinds of little aches & pains right now too, so as a bonus I'm giving my body a couple of extra recovery days.

This morning I ran an event run called Jingle Bell / Christmas Eve 5k. Burned 506 calories in 40 mins a longer time today because after I finished I went back and grabbed our dog teams running with us in the back and we all came back together.

@Laura thanks for the tip. This morning it gave me the calories and now I am 300 some in the black from yesterday.

Today my chest and shoulder ached and forgo the exercise. But I am cooking for dinner today making casseroles and ham. Instead of standing there stirring the cheese - I jogged at the stove. My son shouted "Mom are you okay? - Oh you are just trying to get your steps in!" So far I have earned 217 calories from "exercise".

    Merry Christmas everyone!

    Hi, Merry Christmas to all...

Laura just enjoy the holidays and your rest, when you go back it will feel even better.

Today was my first day back at Nia class in a week and I didn't realize how much I missed it until I went, they had all kinds of xmas songs and reg songs from jazz, to funk to rock to slow...and boy did we work up a sweat!

One girl clipped a tiny santa hat the kind that would fit on top of wine bottle on her head, it looked so cute.

I am watching sappy xmas movies while husband driving taxi, we are going out to dinner at European place tonight. The lady is from Russia and very sweet.

Merry Christmas! It's already after midnight here, so I'm a tad late. I've been feeling pretty rough. This cold is the bad kind. I occasionally get a "light" cold, but not this time. Anyway, stayed home with kids today just trying to survive the achy throat, cough, drippy nose, etc x2 (lil girl still too). We did lots of fun Mommy+kids stuff today at home, which was really nice (no need to run to shop or to a tutor or anywhere--just homemade chicken noodle soup for lunch to help feel better and coloring and scootering and playing games). DH had a great day at work (cha-ching), so that's making Christmas a little brighter. Now, just to do the last of the gift wrapping and try to sleep. I've already planned to stay home from the greatgrandmother's tomorrow. I can't risk passing the cold to her. So, I'll get some extra rest then too.

You are all an inspirational bunch and I look forward to a new year of sharing our workouts and activity.

    Happy Holidays!

I decided this morning to give myself the day off because I truly felt that's what I needed. I wrapped gifts, made the broccoli salad I'm bringing for lunch tomorrow, took two (two!!!) naps with the cats, watched some Hulu, cleaned up the kitchen, then left at 3:15 to pick up my aunt for church. After church I went to my niece's house for family time & dinner. A few other people came over to play some games and I had a sinus headache and really wasn't feeling social, and it was snowing, so I left early. As I'm driving past my gym on the way home all I can think is "I need to run." So I came home, did a couple of things, changed into workout clothes, and went back to the gym. Was aiming for 3 miles but ended up running 4. I really needed that.
