A long while ago, I was at 1400 calories and read something from a scooby like site that I should eat 2500 to lose weight. So I did... That week I LOST 1.9lbs with little exercise and eating anywhere between 2100-2700 calories. Went to IPOARM and Dan gave me 1600, which I'm on now, and losing slowly still.

Whoops ! Thought it was obvious, but how I upped my calories from 1400-25/2700 and lost 2lbs xD0 -
I dont think 1 week is enough time to accurately gauge a new diet. A change of 1.9 lbs can be caused by many factors, dehydration, loss of muscle mass etc.
Ive lost 3 lbs over night due to a stomach bug, but it certainly wasnt fat loss0 -

you were still in a calorie deficit, just a more reasonable one for your activity level, height, weight, and age.0 -
It was only a week, so could be a normal fluctuation.0

Most likely you had already lost the fat but water retention was hiding the loss. If you have a high calorie day or two it can cause your body to release some water weight. Happened to me over Thanksgiving of last year. I thought it was magic. :laugh:0 -

Slow and steady is the way to go. 1.9 pounds is fine, why change what was working?0 -

i believe lyle mcdonald's talks about that on the body recomposition site. basically it has to do with how hormones like insulin and leptin react to carb refeeds
ETA: iliftheavyacrylics posted the link i was thinking of :flowerforyou:0 -
