I am running in the same 10k that I ran at the start of my new running life, last January, on Sunday. I was aragantly working out just how fast I was going to run compared to last year. Now the weather forecast for Sunday is that, here in the SW of England, we are about to be hit by the worst storm this century. Complete with storm surge flooding up river and as the course is on the river we may be running in water. ah well forget super fast time, new target, run and finish.

I may run some 5 or 10K's, but the only race I'm focusing on right now is Grandmas Marathon (Duluth MN). I ran it last year and had a blast. My goal is to break 4 this year (4:13 last year).

I will also run a fall marathon, but don't know where yet. If anyone has recommendations for something within 8 hours of Wisconsin feel free to share.

Added the Eastern States 20 mile, NH, USA on March 30th to the schedule. I have a 20 miler scheduled for that day anyway, so I will treat it like a training run with a goal pace of 9:14. My birthday is the following day, so my wife and I are ditching our son with my parents and spending the weekend there. Looking forward to it!

So, for the the time being, it looks like this for 2014:

    Jan 1 - Chilly Chili 5k, Orange CT, (23:53)

March 22 - Savin Rock half, West Haven, CT (tune up race)

March 30 - Eastern State 20 Mile, Portsmouth, NH (training run)

May 4 - Cox Marathon, Providence, RI (A race)

July - Gaspee Days 5k, Warwick, RI (fun run)

Fall marathon (not scheduled, signed up for NYC lottery)

The plan is to peak for two marathons.

Gazelle Girl and Third Coast Relay - I assume you are in Michigan. For a fall half, you should consider the Capital City River Run in Lansing. I have done it 3 times. It is in mid-September. It starts near the Capital but most of the course is along the Lansing River Trail. It is a very well run race.

Yes, I am! I hadn't thought of of the Capital City run. I think a few friends have run in and also had good things to say. I'll look into that one.

I'm really excited about 3CR - our running group put together a team for it last year and I was one of the drivers. We might have enough for 2 teams this year!
